Located about 60 miles south of Nashville off Interstate 65 at Exit 22, the renovated destination was designed to make every stop along the highway "feel a little more like home."

The property offers far more than fuel. Visitors can enjoy DLY BBQ, the Cup of Ambition coffee and ice cream shop inspired by Dolly's hit song "9 to 5," exclusive merchandise, trucker amenities, a dog park, performance spaces for local musicians, and numerous photo opportunities celebrating the singer's career.

Greg Sachs explained that he wanted to transform the travel stop into a destination and believed there was only one person who truly represented kindness and hospitality.

"Who is better in the world to personify kindness and hospitality than Dolly Parton? I am extremely proud and blessed to call her my friend and my partner," he said.

The report also noted that Dolly has long said that her years touring the country have given her firsthand experience of what travelers want during road trips, making the partnership a natural fit.

Dolly went on to praise her business partner, Greg Sachs, explaining that the idea came together after he suggested they join forces. "I've spent my whole life traveling on the road," she told the audience before sharing the humorous explanation behind the project:

"I'm sure some of you wonder why I wanted a truck stop. Well, I couldn't leave it to Beavers. I had to throw my scrawny little self in there."

She assured visitors that the travel stop wasn't trying to compete with anyone. Instead, she aimed to offer travelers everything they could need before officially counting down to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Another Video Offered a Wider Look at the Grand Opening

A Facebook report captured Dolly surprising fans during the celebration at the newly opened travel stop in Cornersville. The footage showed her greeting supporters before taking part in the official festivities as guests gathered to celebrate the launch of the newest Tennessee attraction.

While many viewers focused on the excitement surrounding the opening, others paid close attention to Dolly herself. One person commented, "She looked unsteady on her feet. Bless her. Of I'm course, I'm only 57 and don't even attempt to walk in Stilettos. Haha!"

Another viewer wrote, "Those shoes made me nervous." A third commenter remarked, "Even sick and unwell, she still manages to show up …" Someone else added, "Very uneasy on her feet, she's not well, and she's trying to hide it."

One Clip Left Viewers Looking at Something Else Entirely

Although the opening celebrated Dolly's latest business venture, another video from the event quickly shifted attention elsewhere.

Some viewers focused on how the people standing beside Dolly appeared to support her during the ceremony. One person said, "It looks like the both of them have their hands on her and appears that they both touched hands on her side. It just looks weird and off." Another person stated, "Hand placement looks intentional! 😳"

Others paid attention to the positioning of one man's hand during the celebration. A fan opined, "That man is getting extra handsy with her in this picture !" A different viewer said, "His hand was a little off of personal territory there."

One commenter wondered, "Could it be that he was holding her so she wouldn't loose her balance? 🤔🤔" Someone else commented, "The man didn't seem to be minding where his hand was." One more viewer added, "He better take his hand off dolly!"

Whether fans were admiring the impressive new travel destination or debating what they noticed during the ceremony, Dolly's appearance ensured the grand opening became one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the week — and the videos continue to attract fresh reactions as more viewers watch them.

The grand opening marked a joyful new chapter for Dolly Parton, but court documents previously obtained and reported by Us Weekly revealed another side of the country legend's life — one rooted in love, loss, and the lasting legacy of her late husband, Carl Dean.

Carl — who passed away on March 3 in Nashville at age eighty-two — executed his will on January 16, 2013, and never changed a word in the decade before his death, according to filings obtained by Us Weekly.

The seventy-nine-year-old country icon, Dolly, identified herself in court as Carl's widow, confirming their long marriage of nearly sixty years and noting that they had no children.

A Silent Partner in Life and Death

She also disclosed that the Carl Thomas Dean Trust is the sole beneficiary of his estate — and she is its trustee. Surprisingly, Carl held no real estate in Tennessee and had no controlling interest in any active business or enterprise at the time of his passing. What he did leave behind were cash holdings and personal property, which are now in the care of his wife.

Dolly petitioned the court to serve as the executor of his estate, in line with Carl's will, which specified that if she could not serve, the role would go to his niece. The documents also confirmed that Carl has five nieces and nephews, while Dolly has fourteen.

A Handwritten Legacy of Love

Carl's will included a tender, personal element — a handwritten note detailing which loved ones would inherit specific household items. If the list could not be located, Dolly would be responsible for making the distribution decisions herself.

The will went further, leaving her "all of his right, title, and interest in any personal effects relating to her music and entertainment career, including, without limitation, pictures, costumes, jewelry, musical instruments and equipment."

If Dolly had predeceased him, those treasures would have been passed on through the trust instead. Other personal effects, such as furniture, automobiles, and artwork, were also designated for Dolly, or in the event of her prior passing, divided equally among their combined nieces and nephews.

A Marriage Made in Secrecy, Bound by Soul

The couple married on May 30, 1966, in Ringgold, Georgia, and despite Dolly's towering fame, they remained one of Hollywood's most reclusive and steadfast couples.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Dolly explained why her husband avoided the spotlight:

"It's just not who he is. He's like, a quiet, reserved person and he figured if he ever got out there in that, he'd never get a minute's peace and he's right about that [sic]."

"I've always respected and appreciated that in him," she said. "He said, 'I didn't choose this world, I chose you, and you chose that world. But we can keep our lives separate and together.' And we do and we have. We've been together fifty-six years, married fifty-four [sic]."

His death was announced in a heartfelt social media post on March 3, where Dolly spoke of their six-decade love story with deep gratitude. The family held a private burial, attended only by close relatives, asking for privacy as they mourned.

In the months following Carl's death, concern mounted about Dolly's health — both among fans and family. On October 7, 2025, Frieda Parton, Dolly's sister, took to Facebook with a heartfelt plea, writing that she had spent the night praying for Dolly and urged others to do the same.

Just one day later, Dolly herself addressed the growing rumors in an Instagram video. Appearing radiant yet resolute, she captioned the post, "I ain't dead yet!"

She then opened up about the toll of losing her husband:

"Back when my husband Carl was very sick, that was for a long time, and then when he passed, I didn't take care of myself, so I let a lot of things go that I should've been taking care of."

After her doctors urged her to slow down and focus on her health, Dolly said, "Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt, where I'm kind of having a few treatments here and there, but I wanted you to know that I'm not dying."

The newly surfaced estate documents, paired with Dolly's raw honesty about her health and grief, offer fans a deeply personal glimpse into the love, faith, and resilience that have long defined the star's private world.

Even in widowhood, the "9 to 5" singer continues to honor the man who never sought fame, yet remained the foundation of her world for nearly six decades.

From launching an ambitious new travel stop to cherishing the legacy of the man she loved for nearly six decades, Dolly Parton continues to balance new beginnings with treasured memories—giving fans yet another reason to admire the woman behind the icon.
