Simone Biles Says 3 Masked Men Came to Her Chicago Home — What They Stole Led Her to Make a New Purchase

Simone Biles revealed that three masked men came to her Chicago home and stole something during her final months there. The Olympian later recovered it, but the incident still factored into a major new purchase.

What began as a casual "get ready with me" video took an unexpected turn when Biles explained why she felt ready for something new.

The gymnast was preparing to collect her latest purchase when she briefly shared what happened at the home she had shared with her husband, Jonathan Owens. She also revealed one change the couple made afterward.

Biles Was Getting Ready for a New Purchase

In a TikTok video posted Monday, September 21, Biles invited followers to get ready with her as she prepared to pick up her new car. She had just flown in and planned to do her makeup quickly, describing it as a "five-minute beat."

With little time to spare, she said she had also hoped to re-pin her hair but could not fit it in. The 29-year-old then explained how she ended up choosing her new vehicle. There was a car she had always wanted, though she had not necessarily wanted to pay its price.

That led to a visit to Audi, where an RS Q8 was suggested as an alternative with the same engine at about half the price. Biles went to see the vehicle and took it for a test drive. The experience quickly ruled it out for her.

She described the Audi as "really muscly" and said she did not like how it drove. "I'm not about to manhandle a car," she added. Her search continued at Porsche, where she encountered a Cayenne GTS. Hearing the vehicle start was enough to capture her attention.

Biles compared her reaction to Tiffany Haddish's character in the 2017 movie "Girls Trip," saying, "Give it to me. I want it. Give it to me." The search ended there. Although Lamborghini had apparently been another possible stop, Biles said they never made it to the dealership.

But her reason for wanting another vehicle went beyond simply finding a model she liked.

Three Masked Men Came to Their Chicago Home

While doing her makeup, Biles shifted from discussing dealerships and test drives to something that had happened during the couple's final months in Chicago. She revealed that three men wearing masks came to their home.

What they took was directly connected to the new purchase she was preparing to collect. "I feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in masks came to our house and stole my Porsche. Stole the GTS," Biles said.

In the post, Biles clarified that the Porsche had been recovered. Her TikTok caption was similarly brief about what happened next: "yes we recovered the car, onto the next." Biles did not provide further details about the theft in the video.

Instead, she told viewers that the incident was a story of its own and said she could share it later if they were interested. The Olympian then reflected on the number of unusual situations she has encountered, saying she felt she needed a reality TV show.

"The things that happen to me are absolutely insanity," she said, adding that producers could simply film her regular life. The theft also played a part in another decision Biles and Owens made. Biles said it was one of the reasons the couple got their Doberman.

Athletes Have Been Warned About Home Burglaries

Biles did not say who the masked men were, and the sources provided do not connect the theft at her home to any organized burglary group. Her disclosure, however, comes after federal authorities and major sports leagues warned professional athletes about burglaries targeting their homes.

In December 2024, the FBI issued a formal warning to sports leagues after a series of burglaries involving professional athletes. According to ABC News, the agency said organized theft groups had allegedly burglarized the homes of at least nine professional athletes between September and November 2024.

The FBI said athletes' homes could be targeted because of the perception that they contain expensive items such as jewelry, watches, designer handbags, and cash. Authorities also warned that groups could use publicly available information and social media to learn an athlete's routines.

The reported methods included physical and technical surveillance. Some groups were said to use Wi-Fi jammers to interfere with connections and devices, cover security cameras, and conceal their identities.

The FBI advised athletes to keep inventories of valuables, increase home security, report suspicious activity, and be cautious about what they post online. The warning followed burglaries involving several prominent professional athletes.

ESPN reported that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and NBA players Bobby Portis, Mike Conley Jr., and Luka Dončić were among athletes whose homes had been burglarized.

The NFL, NBA, and NHL had also alerted teams about security concerns in late 2024. According to CNN, the NFL warned that thieves appeared to use team schedules to determine when athletes might be away from their homes.

The league advised players against sharing their activities in real time or posting images of high-value possessions. It also recommended security systems with cameras, sensors, and exterior lighting, along with trusted house sitters when appropriate.

An NBA memo cited by CNN recommended removing real estate listings containing interior photographs from publicly accessible websites. It also advised athletes to vet contractors working around their homes and use dogs for home protection.

The FBI cautioned that although many burglaries happened when homes were empty, residents were present during some incidents. Its advice in those cases was to contact law enforcement and avoid confronting the intruders.

Owens Had Another Close Call Months Earlier

Biles' disclosure also follows a separate incident involving Owens earlier in 2026. In February, the NFL player said someone tried to take his shopping bag while he was in Milan, Italy, where he and Biles had been attending the Winter Olympics.

"Not somebody just tried to snatch my shopping bag in Milan, force of habit i had it tied around my hand so he couldn't get it and took off running immediately....but still crazy," Owens wrote on X. It was unclear what was inside the bag.

Biles had also shared a photo of herself and Owens posing in a luxury store. The couple had been spotted watching the men's free skate figure skating competition during the Winter Olympics. They were supporting American skater Ilia Malinin, who finished eighth after suffering two falls.

Biles Settled on Another GTS

Back in her September TikTok, Biles' attention returned to the new car waiting for her. Despite the recovery of her previous Porsche, she went ahead with another purchase: a Porsche Cayenne GTS. Before leaving to collect it, Biles switched purses and said she thought she had put the title inside.

She also showed viewers her simple travel outfit and considered putting on sneakers. She explained that she sometimes gets nervous about driving a car depending on whether she can reach the pedal.

Biles did not immediately show the new vehicle's color. Instead, she invited viewers to guess. She also had a message for people she said had overheard a conversation about the purchase while she was on a plane.
