Paltrow revealed, "I listen to your music on repeat and miss you so much at college. And today more than ever. I love you my boy. ❤️mama."
Fans couldn't get enough of Moses' striking looks as he celebrated his birthday, flooding the comment section with admiration and warmth. One admirer pointed out the strong family resemblance, "Hes [sic] a good combination of both his parents."
Another fan was charmed by both his appearance and character, saying, "You are the spitting image of your Dad and sound like such a lovely person - wishing you every happiness 🙏" A third fan kept it short, declaring, "Resembles his father so much😍."
Someone else was taken by his charm, gushing, "Look at those eyes …He is so sweet congratulations to you and Chris …Happy Birthday to Moses !!!!!" And one comment beautifully captured the sentiment shared by many, "His own person and a beautiful mix of you both ❤️."
Having grown up around the entertainment industry, it's no surprise that Moses has followed in his parents' footsteps. He is part of the band 'DANCER,' performing gigs across New York City.
Before Moses left for college, Paltrow shared her mixed feelings about becoming an empty nester. "It's kind of giving me a nervous breakdown, if I'm honest. I started being like, 'Oh my God, and I need to quit my job and I need to sell my house and I need to move," she divulged.
She described the changes around her as feeling like "turmoil," as her identity had been so closely tied to motherhood, with her life revolving around her children's schedules. Still, the process of letting go had been gradual, from them driving themselves to becoming more independent in other ways.
"I feel really lucky because I have a close group of mom friends and we all raised our kids alongside one another. So we’re kind of in it together," the actress shared.
She also reflected on advice she received from psychologist-astrologist Jennifer Freed, who suggested reframing the situation as a chance for freedom rather than loss. This perspective resonated with her, helping her shift focus toward the opportunities ahead, like enjoying guilt-free girls' weekends.
Paltrow welcomed Moses and his sister, Apple, 20, during her marriage to Martin. The former spouses were married from 2003 to 2016 and now have a good co-parenting relationship.
Paltrow praised the Coldplay frontman for his childlike spirit, noting how he always encouraged fun adventures with their kids, like jumping into the ocean or visiting quirky guitar stores. She also admired his sweetness, describing how he brought this warmth into his parenting, despite his frequent time on the road.
Paltrow also reflected on their split, emphasizing how important it was for both of them to prioritize their children. She acknowledged that while it’s easy to say kids will be a priority, it’s often hard to follow through, especially in moments of sacrifice or emotional pain.
However, she mentioned that despite the end of their marriage, she and Martin remained a family, acknowledging that some days were harder than they appeared. What made it easier was the unity and love they shared for their children, always striving to do what was best for them.
She recalled conversations with family and friends during the divorce, where many shared that the real difficulty for children wasn't the divorce itself but the lack of unity between parents, such as not being present for important moments.
Paltrow and Martin made a conscious decision to avoid these pitfalls, focusing on maintaining their friendship for the sake of their children. They are both proud of their ability to prioritize their kids' well-being and remain close.
Reflecting on her approach to raising her children, she emphasized her commitment to honesty and empowering them with freedom and responsibility.
"They've treated it with reverence. I've always said, 'I don't need to give you a curfew unless you give me a reason to give you a curfew,' kind of thing. They're responsible and they've never done anything too crazy," she explained.
Paltrow's parenting style has created a sense of trust and respect between her and her kids, allowing her to avoid the typical struggles many parents face during their kids' teenage years.
By offering them independence and holding them accountable, she has fostered a balanced environment where her children can thrive and make their own responsible decisions.
