Fans flooded the comment section with admiration. One person wrote, "Who said aging is a bad thing? 😂," while another added, "Latinas age like fine wine 🍷 🍑."
Several others echoed the sentiment, celebrating Vergara's enduring beauty. One comment read, "This women [sic] doesn't get old!" and another wondered aloud, "How can one woman be so perfect?"
One fan declared, "Very attractive woman," while another shared, "Still one of the baddest ever in the world 💯💯💯." A netizen added, "She is perfect," while another wrote, "You are very very beautiful woman I like what I see [sic]."
Long before her International Bikini Day post, Vergara had discussed aging, particularly for a celebrity. In May 2024, she graced the cover of People's Beautiful Issue and openly reflected on turning 52.
"I have to be honest with you, I thought it was old, like that's it," she said when asked about that age. "And now I feel great. I know I don't look the same. But I don't think I am going to ever be the woman that has the courage to be, like, all-white hair."
When asked about the strangest thing she has done for beauty, the actress admitted she has "done it all," from coconut oil treatments to wrapping herself in plastic with Aquaphor. Her mindset is simple — if there's a chance something might work, she's willing to try it. "I don't care. It's not stupid," she added.
She also acknowledged that aging has shifted her priorities. "I take sleeping seriously now. Before, I could survive on six hours, now I know that I don't look good if I don't sleep more," she explained.
For photoshoots, she prepares earlier to avoid looking "puffier," because her job as an actress on many occasions requires her to be "camera-ready." However, the process takes more time now that she's older.
In an interview a month later with E! News, Vergara spoke about the insecurities that often come with aging, especially with some clothes. She said swimsuits have always posed challenges for women of all sizes and backgrounds, and that growing older only adds pressure.
Still, she remains body-positive and forward-thinking, emphasizing that clothing should adapt to a woman's changing body rather than expecting women to fit outdated styles.
She pointed out that what works in one's 20s or 30s might not suit the body in later decades, and highlighted the value of designs that shape, support, and enhance natural features as women enter their 40s and 50s, like the swimwear in her collaboration with Walmart.
However, it's not just about clothes. With age, she has managed to understand life better and what matters more, like wellness and self-care.
For her, getting older as a woman in Hollywood who has to be in front of a camera is different because "insecurities become even bigger."
Despite this pressure, Vergara embraces what works for her, including cosmetic enhancements when needed.
"I want to feel good and not because what [sic] people are thinking of me," she explained. "It's for me. I want to feel fresh — not exhausted. You have to accept that you're going to be different, but also I'm never afraid to do the best that I can. So, if there's things I can do without going crazy, why not [sic]?"
Additionally, Vergara made it clear she wasn't entirely convinced by the idea that wisdom outweighs youth, joking that if given the choice, she would gladly stay young and foolish rather than grow older and wiser.
With her 53rd birthday approaching on July 10, Vergara's fearless celebration of beauty and aging feels especially timely.
