Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's Daughter, 21, Reveals Her Ongoing Battle with a Devastating Disorder
The former couple's oldest daughter recently opened up about the severity of her mental health struggles, prompting others to share similar experiences.
Sami Sheen, the 21-year-old daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, discussed her battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in a TikTok post on July 27, 2025.
The video, captioned "so fun! #ocd," shed light on the mental strain she endures daily. "Nothing aggravates me more, then when someone is like, 'Oh my god, I'm so OCD, I need to keep my room clean and organized,'" said Sami.
She explained that it is nothing compared to what she has to deal with:
"I'm so OCD, that even if I buy something from the grocery store that day, and I read the expiration date over and over, over and over, and over again, somehow, I will convince myself it's a fake expiration date and it's actually expired a year ago and if I eat it, I'm going to get violently ill."
Sami admitted that this compulsion often leads her to throw food away, leaving her to starve. Supportive comments quickly flooded the post.
One user wrote, "Your honesty is helpful. I wish more people were open-minded." Another shared, "It feels good to see someone with the same OCD symptoms. Everyone thinks I'm kidding or crazy. I throw so much food away." A third added, "OCD is horrible. I've dealt with it since I was a kid. Ugh."
Sami, who boasts over 100,000 TikTok followers, is Denise and Charlie's eldest child. The pair, married from 2002 to 2006, also share a younger daughter, Eloise, born in June 2005.
Sami's revelation comes amid her mother's highly publicized divorce from actor Aaron Phyphers. Aaron filed for divorce on July 7, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences and listing their separation date as July 4. He has requested spousal support but wants assets and debts divided separately.
The couple, married for six years, did not have children together, though Aaron was in the process of adopting Denise’s youngest daughter, Eloise Richards. It is unclear if the adoption was finalized.
After news of the split made the rounds, new details about Denise and Aaron’s relationship have since surfaced. Aaron accused Denise of having an affair for months with former special forces soldier Rudy Reyes, claiming he first caught them together in April 2025.
Although Denise allegedly promised to end the affair, Aaron discovered them together again in May, leading to escalating tensions over the July 4 holiday weekend.
According to reports, their confrontation turned physical, with Denise allegedly smashing Aaron’s phone and later accusing him of assault, claiming he left her with a black eye. Aaron has vehemently denied the allegation, expressing heartbreak over the breakdown of their nine-year relationship:
'I'm brokenhearted and [expletive] tired. Really, she's [expletive] me up. We've been together nine years and for her to do that and to lie to me consistently - I'm totally tired and drained."
He has also alleged that Denise’s prescription pill use, combined with alcohol, contributed to their marital troubles, as did frequent moves over the years.
The couple began dating in June 2017, secretly got engaged, and married spontaneously in September 2018. Like Denise, Aaron has also walked down the aisle before. He was married to actress Nicollette Sheridan, from whom he divorced in August 2018.
Sami's revelation offers insight into how personal challenges can unfold in the public eye, especially within a high-profile family. By speaking openly, she shifts attention toward the realities of mental health rather than the stigma often surrounding it. Her disclosure arrives at a turbulent time for her family, showcasing the complexities they face privately and publicly.
