Police arrested Ray J around 4 a.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025, after a chilling livestream appeared to show the singer and reality TV star brandishing a firearm and threatening individuals inside his Los Angeles-area home during a disturbing confrontation involving his estranged wife, Princess Love.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the "Love and Hip Hop" star's Porter Ranch residence after a frantic 911 call reported a domestic disturbance.

The explosive incident played out during a Twitch livestream, which has since vanished from the platform. Twitch later deactivated Ray's account for violating its terms of service.

In the video, Ray appeared visibly distraught, describing the day as the "worst Thanksgiving." He claimed someone was trying to take his children and said he no longer felt safe.

Then, in a moment that stunned viewers, he appeared to grab what looked like a gun and issued a verbal threat to those he believed were outside his home.

Moments later, he vanished off-screen — but the drama was far from over. Off-camera, Ray could be heard confronting someone. Then, 41-year-old Princess entered the frame, cradling their daughter, Melody, and told him she was taking the children.

She repeatedly said, "You pointed a gun at us," referring to herself and her cousin. Ray denied the accusation and claimed both women were intoxicated. However, Princess shot back, calling him a "woman abuser."

The situation spiraled as a man entered the home and began shouting at Ray. The shouting intensified, and with the camera still rolling, a child could be heard crying in the background.

As tensions reached a breaking point, police sirens wailed outside. Officers could be heard in the distance as they moved in to secure the home. In the background, their commands and radio chatter cut through the chaos.

Later, Princess reportedly told police that her son, Epik, saw a gun on the table, though much of her statement was muffled and unclear. Police cleared the home and took the 44-year-old artist into custody on a felony charge of making criminal threats.

Ray's bail was set at $50,000. But later that day, he posted bond and was released from custody, according to ABC News. However, the storm surrounding him was far from over.

Shortly after the incident, Princess took to Instagram Stories in a quiet but pointed digital outcry. In the first Story, she highlighted the term "gaslighting," suggesting it was relevant to her experience.

Another slide focused on "projection," describing a tactic where a person accuses others of actions or motives they themselves are displaying. In the example, the accuser tries to control the story by shifting blame and questioning the other person's intentions.

She then posted another example of "countering," a behavior where someone dismisses another person's version of events and replaces it with a false narrative. The message illustrated how this can make someone feel confused or question their memory.

While Princess did not mention Ray directly in these posts, the timing and content implied a connection to the recent incident. Later, she directly addressed the tension that unfolded during Thanksgiving and spoke directly about the moment things escalated in a video shared by TMZ on X. She stated:

"What I'm not about to do is let you deflect and not take accountability for your actions, for pulling a gun out on me and my cousin's husband because I was trying to take my kids and leave your house."

She offered context for why she agreed to go to Ray's home, and revealed what had happened the last time she left the children with him:

"I agreed to come over there and cook for Thanksgiving because I wanted you to be around your kids, with me present, because the last time I left them with you, they found you naked in the bed with a woman."

Princess said she later confronted Ray about what the kids saw at the time, but he dismissed her concerns and responded in a hostile manner, telling her that her questions were unwelcome and that she had no authority in his home.

In her final message, Princess delivered a plea: "So, take accountability, Ray, do better, check yourself into rehab, because you're more than drunk. You're not about to sit here and try making me look crazy when I'm the best mother since the day my kids were born."

This heartbreaking conflict follows a long, rocky, and highly publicized history of marital strife. According to Page Six, Princess filed for divorce for the fourth time in February 2024, after nearly eight years of marriage.

In a now-deleted Instagram post shared shortly after filing, she addressed their separation. "It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce," she wrote. "After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged."

Princess expressed that the decision to divorce had been made with care and mutual respect, emphasizing that both she and Ray had taken time to reflect and consider each other's well-being.

She also acknowledged that, while their marriage was ending, they remained committed to co-parenting. She closed with a forward-looking sentiment, expressing hope for healing, growth, and new beginnings.

This wasn't the couple's first attempt at divorce. Their first filing dates back to May 2020, when Princess accused Ray of stranding her and their daughter in Las Vegas while he went to a strip club.

Since then, despite moments of reconciliation, their relationship has been marred by recurring turmoil, both in public and behind closed doors.

Ray, who first rose to fame through his music and television appearances, is also known as the younger brother of Grammy-winning singer and actress Brandy.
