Trump also described Wakefield as an important presence in Bondi's life, saying he has been a tremendous factor for her and that the two share a "beautiful relationship."
For some viewers, the moment briefly shifted attention to the man standing beside the former Florida attorney general.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Wakefield works in real estate private equity in Tampa, Florida, focusing on investment partnerships and development projects.
He currently serves as Executive Vice President at Ellison Development, where he works with the investor community and helps lead new multifamily development initiatives.

Outside of his professional background, little information about Wakefield's personal life is publicly available. His Instagram profile offers one small glimpse, with a bio that reads, "3 monster children are roaming the world," though it does not identify their mother.
Details about his relationship with Bondi have also appeared sparingly on social media. She first publicly shared a photo of them with friends in an October 2017 Instagram post, writing, "Great night at Bruno Mars w Chillura's and friends."
Bondi has occasionally shared photos of the two of them online over the years.

Why the Couple Keeps Their Relationship Private
According to The List in April 2025, matchmaker Susan Trombetti suggested the approach may help shield Wakefield from political scrutiny.
"Politics are polarizing and she needs to keep him as separate as possible before he and their relationship becomes ammunition or even fodder for the media," Trombetti told The List.
She added that maintaining such a low profile can sometimes fuel speculation, as limited public information often leaves room for curiosity.

That limited visibility has meant only occasional glimpses of the couple over the years, from social media posts to a handful of public appearances. Donald Trump's joking introduction during Bondi's swearing-in briefly drew attention to the private businessman standing beside her.
