Kelly Osbourne Marks One Year Since Losing Ozzy — And the 3 Traits Her Son Inherited from His Grandfather — Photos
In a heartfelt letter to her late father, the "Fashion Police" star reflected on her grief and revealed why her young son has become one of her greatest reminders of the rockstar.
One year after the death of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne marked the anniversary with an emotional letter reflecting on the father she called her protector, greatest teacher, best friend, and "the apple of my eye."

Kelly and Ozzy shared many public moments over the years. In one photo, they pose together at the 2014 MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert in Los Angeles. In a lengthy Instagram post, Kelly wrote that the hardest part of losing Ozzy is no longer being able to touch him, hold his hand, or hear him call out to her.
She also looked back on the ordinary moments they shared, recalling afternoons on the sofa, his jokes, and the small routines that became some of her most treasured memories.

One of the final public moments involving Kelly and her father came after Ozzy's death. She described carrying the love she has for her father with her every day, writing that although the past year has been the hardest of her life, she continues to feel his presence in quiet moments, in music, and in the memories they created together.
Later in the tribute, Kelly turned to her son, Sidney, explaining that becoming a mother has given her another way to remember Ozzy.

She said:
"I wish you could see your grandson. Oh, Daddy, you would adore the little man he is becoming. Every single day I catch glimpses of you in him. Your smile. Your spirit. Your mannerisms. Sometimes it stops me in my tracks because it feels as though you've found a way to remind me that love never truly leaves us. Seeing you reflected in him is one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given."
Kelly paired the tribute with a vintage black-and-white portrait of Ozzy as a young man. Smiling at the camera with shoulder-length dark hair, he wears a collared shirt beneath a jacket in the timeless photograph.
Five Rare Photos Show the Little Boy Kelly Wrote About
One of Kelly's recent social media updates featured a cheerful selfie with Sidney during an Easter afternoon tea at The Dorchester. In the photo, Kelly smiles widely at the camera while Sidney raises one arm in the air as they sit together.
Kelly wrote, "Had a fantastic time catching up with uncle @mileslangford having afternoon tea @thedorchester. Baby Sidney had the best time ever! I'm really grateful to the Dorchester for going above and beyond for Sidney!!!"

A separate upload showed a quieter moment between Kelly and Sidney. The selfie captures Sidney resting against his mother's chest while Kelly looks toward the camera. She wears a white furry hat, dark cat-eye glasses, and colorful beaded necklaces as they sit outdoors.
Kelly captioned the photo, "Here's to the ladies who lunch with #BabySidney."
Another family snapshot featured Sidney with his father, Sid Wilson. Sidney smiles broadly at the camera while standing between his parents, who lean into the frame beside him. Kelly accompanied the image with a simple Santa Claus emoji.
One recent photo showed Kelly and Sidney enjoying a day outdoors. Kelly wore a black cowboy hat, sunglasses, a leather jacket, and a red bandana, while Sidney smiled beside her in a shearling-lined jacket.
Kelly wrote, "I've been living for some days like this!!!!! #familytime ❤️ #farm #animals #cows #ducks #chicken #love."
Another photo shared by Kelly shows Sidney dressed in a gray mouse costume during Jack Osbourne's 40th birthday celebration. Kelly, wearing theatrical makeup and a blonde wig as part of her own costume, crouches beside her son as they both smile for the camera.
Kelly captioned the post, "We had the best time at @jackosbourne40th last night!!!! What a special night!"
One Video Became a Playful Tribute to One of Ozzy's Most Famous Moments
Kelly has also honored her father's legacy in lighter ways. Last Halloween, she shared a playful video of Sidney recreating one of Ozzy Osbourne's most famous moments. The clip showed the toddler biting into a stuffed bat while Ozzy's classic song "Crazy Train" played in the background.
Kelly captioned the clip, "Learned from the greatest, Papa!"
The moment referenced Ozzy's infamous 1982 concert, when he bit the head off what he believed was a rubber bat that had been thrown onto the stage.
The bat was later revealed to be real, and the incident became one of the defining moments of his career. Kelly used a plush toy version of the animal, similar to one sold through Ozzy's official website.
According to Rolling Stone, the video prompted fans to draw comparisons between Sidney and his late grandfather. Among the reactions the publication highlighted were comments reading, "He looks like him," "He's reborn," and "I know he saw that and is laughing from heaven."
Kelly Once Shared How Close Ozzy and Sidney Had Become
Kelly's anniversary tribute reflected on the memories she shared with her father. In May 2025, she also spoke about the relationship Ozzy had built with his grandson, Sidney.
Speaking to People at the 32nd Annual Race to Erase MS Gala in May, Kelly said the pair had become inseparable and described the nightly routine they enjoyed together while she was staying at her parents' home.
"Oh my God, they're best friends," Kelly said. "So, favorite time of the day is nighttime because [Sidney] leaves me and gets in bed with my mom and dad because I'm staying in their house right now while my house is getting ready."
She said Sidney and his grandparents would spend time watching cartoons together before bed. "And he goes and gets in bed with them and they have cartoon time together and it is the sweetest thing ever. I have to literally rip him out."
In the months before Kelly shared her anniversary tribute, she also faced major changes in her personal life.
Just months after a picture-perfect proposal, Kelly and Sid have gone their separate ways — but what really led to the split is only now coming into focus.

A Romance Years in the Making
For fans, Kelly and Sid's relationship felt almost destined. The pair had known each other for nearly three decades, first crossing paths when Slipknot toured with Ozzfest, the iconic festival founded by her parents.
By 2022, their friendship had blossomed into romance, with Kelly calling Sid her "best friend" and "soulmate" in a heartfelt Valentine's Day post.
Later that year, they welcomed their son, Sidney — a milestone that seemed to solidify their future.
The Proposal That Had Everyone Talking
Then came the moment that made headlines. Backstage at Ozzy's final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham last July, Sid got down on one knee in front of Kelly's entire family.
The emotional proposal — complete with a massive diamond ring — was something Kelly later admitted she "had no clue" was coming.
For a while, it seemed like a fairytale ending was finally within reach.
Cracks Beneath the Surface
But behind the smiles and public appearances, insiders say things weren't as perfect as they seemed. According to a source quoted in the Daily Mail, the couple had been facing challenges long before calling off their engagement.
"They tried to make it work, particularly for the sake of their child, but ultimately decided that separating is the best path forward," the insider revealed, adding that "things were not as they appeared."

A Loss That Changed Everything
At the heart of the breakup lies something far more emotional. Kelly has been grappling with the devastating loss of her father, Ozzy — a grief that insiders describe as "incredibly difficult."
"Kelly has been struggling following the loss of her father. The grieving process has been incredibly difficult, and she's been doing everything she can to cope."
The source shared that Kelly has endured a "difficult" month, balancing heartbreak, motherhood, and personal healing all at once.

A Cryptic Message Raises Questions
Earlier this month, Kelly reportedly hinted at the split and deeper struggles in a raw Instagram post. "There is a special kind of cruelty in hurting someone who is already going through something deeply painful," she wrote.
She continued, "Being kicked while I'm down, having my pain questioned, my struggles turned into gossip, and being abandoned when I need love and support the most - none of this reflects strength. It only shows a lack of compassion and character."
The message left fans speculating — and now, in hindsight, it reads very differently.
Choosing Herself and Her Son
Despite everything, Kelly is said to be focusing on what matters most. Her sobriety remains intact, and insiders say she is committed to being the best mother possible to her three-year-old son, Sid.
"Kelly has endured a great deal over the past year. Despite everything, she remains sober and is now focusing on herself and her role as a mother moving ahead," the source added.
A Brave Face in Public
In recent weeks, Kelly has continued to step out, putting on a brave face. She attended Lily Allen's West End show in London and later celebrated with friends, including barber Kinicki, with whom she has been spending time.

So while the breakup may appear sudden, those closest to Kelly suggest it was anything but. A combination of long-standing relationship struggles and overwhelming grief ultimately led to the decision.
And for now, Kelly is choosing healing over headlines — even if the world is only just catching up.
But to truly understand how things unraveled, you have to go back to the very moment it all began — a proposal that stunned fans, sparked backlash, and may have quietly foreshadowed everything that followed.
It was supposed to be a night of farewell for rock icon Ozzy — but an unexpected twist during the show turned it into a headline-grabbing moment for someone else in the family.
Kelly's surprise engagement during her father Ozzy's final concert set the internet ablaze over the weekend, dividing fans over the timing of the milestone moment. The emotional event, held Saturday night as the Black Sabbath legend gave his farewell performance, quickly turned into a double headline — a poignant goodbye for Ozzy, and a new beginning for Kelly.

Kelly confirmed the proposal in a short but significant post on Instagram, writing, "Oh and this happened yesterday!" TMZ also shared the moment on their Instagram. The engagement, though celebratory, sparked criticism online, with several fans claiming Kelly and her fiancé Sid Wilson stole the spotlight from Ozzy's milestone moment.

One Instagrammer wrote, "That's crazy why take the spotlight from the dad. They could have waited [sic]" and another asking, "Why do this at your dad’s farewell?!? She already has a kid with the dude, why not do it another time??"
Still, the engagement wasn't without support. A fan commented, "🖤🍾Congratulations Sid and Kellie🍾🖤," echoing joy at the couple's milestone moment, even if it came during an emotionally heavy night for the Osbourne family.
Many also pointed to the songwriter's seemingly expressionless reaction in clips and photos, interpreting it as silent disapproval. One Facebooker wrote, "Ozzy Osbourne does NOT approve this message or proposal. his face says it all. Daddy mode commenced," while another comment read, "The look on Ozzy's face," summing up the sentiments of viewers who felt the engagement was ill-timed.
Meanwhile, attention also turned to Kelly's fiancé, Slipknot DJ Sid, who drew remarks for his appearance. On US Weekly's post, a Facebooker shared, "He kinda looks like Ozzy Osborne," a second echoed the thought, "Looks like a bit younger ozzy [sic]," while a third said, "He looks like ozzy! [sic]"
