The remarkably intimate experience was designed for only 16 guests, combining philanthropy with some of Lake Como's most luxurious attractions. Participation was reportedly priced from €160,000 — about $173,000 — per room, based on double occupancy, with guests also required to make a minimum donation of $60,000 per person to the foundation.

The stated goal was to generate more than $1 million in direct support. Guests were set to stay at the lavish 18th-century Passalacqua hotel and enjoy dinners prepared by renowned chefs, private visits to historic villas and cultural landmarks, scenic boat trips, and an evening at Como's Teatro Sociale.

George and Amal were also due to host a lakeside garden party, although not at their own famed Villa Oleandra. Live music and intimate performances were expected to be incorporated throughout the experience.

The Clooney Foundation for Justice, founded in 2016, was reported at the time to be working across 40 countries.

Why Seeing Alexander and Ella Is Such a Big Deal

For longtime followers of the couple, however, the most remarkable part of these new pictures isn't Lake Como's scenery, Amal's dress or even George's polished summer tailoring. It's Alexander and Ella simply being there.
