Gabe Brown's Wife Breaks Her Silence on the Split — 7 Years, 3 Kids, and a Marriage She Couldn't Save

For years, Gabe and Raquell Brown gave people plenty of reasons to believe theirs was a marriage built to last. There were wedding celebrations, babies, family milestones, and affectionate messages left behind on social media.

Now, after 7 years and 3 children together, they are living in different states and moving through a divorce. What looked like a marriage slowly coming apart from the outside has become something much more painful in Raquell’s own telling.

She has now put that version of their relationship into court documents, reaching all the way back to the beginning of their romance. But before getting to what she says happened behind closed doors, there is another version of this marriage still sitting in plain sight.

The Promise She Still Hasn’t Taken Down

Gabe and Raquell’s relationship began in 2018 after his younger sister Rain introduced them. By Jan. 14, 2019, they had quietly married near the Brown family’s home in Washington, beginning what would become a 7-year marriage filled with enormous changes.

At the time, Gabe described the small ceremony in much simpler terms. “We wanted a private ceremony first,” he said, explaining that Raquell had always wanted a spring wedding and that they planned a bigger celebration later.

Years passed, children arrived, and Raquell was still publicly speaking about their relationship in loving terms. One of the clearest reminders is still pinned to the top of her Instagram today.

Their Happiest New Chapter Came With an Unexpected Countdown

In September 2025, the Brown household changed again when Gabe and Raquell welcomed their third child. Their children had been born in 2019, 2021, and 2025, meaning much of the marriage had unfolded not just as husband and wife, but as parents raising a young family.

The final pregnancy had been kept unusually quiet. When Gabe finally shared what was happening, Raquell was already 37 weeks and 1 day pregnant, and the couple was heading to labor and delivery in Seattle.

After the birth, Gabe admitted it had been hard on his wife. “This one has taken a lot of her,” he said, later calling Raquell “a trooper” as their newborn spent time in the NICU before both mother and baby were able to go home.

The Family Had Just Grown — but Something Was Already Shifting

The hospital updates gave no public sign that the marriage was approaching another major turn. Yet roughly 7 months after the birth, Gabe and Raquell began living apart in April 2026.

By summer, financial pressure and disagreements over Gabe’s priorities had become part of the breakup story. Raquell was also described as feeling that Gabe had become emotionally absent and was putting his extended family ahead of her and their 3 children.

For longtime viewers, family had always been at the very center of Gabe’s world. Alaskan Bush People had built the Browns’ public identity around the “Wolfpack” staying close, but Raquell’s later declaration would describe that closeness very differently from the way viewers had seen it on television.

Living Apart Was Only the First Sign

By September, Raquell was living in Minnesota while Gabe remained in Washington. The separation had gone from something the couple was quietly living through to a marriage Raquell was formally asking a court to end.

She filed for divorce after 7 years of marriage and sought temporary court orders while the case moved forward. Gabe’s brother Bear soon publicly confirmed the split, saying, “Yes, Gabe is getting divorced. Stuff happens.”

Bear also said he hoped everything could be handled peacefully and with “what’s best for the children” in mind. Those remarks were about the divorce itself — because the allegations Raquell had made in court were about to put a very different story in front of the public.

What She Finally Put Into Writing

Raquell’s divorce declaration went far beyond saying that she and Gabe had grown apart. She opened with a sentence focused on their children: “I worry for my children’s safety, and well-being every day.”

She followed it with an even more serious claim: “During the time that I’ve been married to Gabe I’ve been severely abused emotionally, mentally, financially and at times physically.” The allegations are Raquell’s account in her court filing, and Gabe had not publicly responded to them when they were published.

Raquell claimed the problems began within the first 4 months of their relationship, when she says fights were deliberately started and breakups were threatened. But one of the most unexpected parts of her declaration concerned a day that had once been presented publicly as the beginning of their happy married life.

A Happy Memory Now Has a Second Version

Shortly before signing their marriage certificate in January 2019, Raquell claims she called her mother while crying. She says she did not want to go through with it until her mother could be present and felt “forced” into marrying Gabe.

Raquell says she eventually signed after being promised that another wedding would follow with her own family there. That places her declaration beside Gabe’s old explanation that they simply “wanted a private ceremony first” before celebrating again later.

There was no hint of that turmoil in the public announcement at the time. The Brown family welcomed Raquell warmly, while Gabe said they were happy to have found one another and excited to see what life had in store for them.

The Part of Her Filing Every Mother Will Notice

Raquell’s declaration also returns repeatedly to Gabe’s attachment to the Brown family. She claims that she and 2 children from a previous relationship were made to live for a period in a travel trailer without electricity or running water on Brown family property.

She says Gabe did not want to move away and wanted to remain either in the same home as his relatives or within walking distance of them. Raquell claims she was blamed when he was separated from his family, turning an issue many married couples understand — where to live and whose family comes first — into a recurring fight.

She further alleges that she was insulted and made to question whether other people in her life truly cared about her. Raquell says she was also pushed to cut people off because private details about the famous family might “get out.”

Her Next Claims Put the Children at the Center

Raquell’s allegations become particularly difficult when she turns to what she says the children experienced. She claims they were subjected to harsh physical discipline that sometimes left red handprints, as well as yelling from extremely close range.

She also describes stretches when the household struggled with basics. During the pandemic and later while Gabe was away working or filming, she claims there were times when the family was left short of food, formula, generator fuel, and water.

By Raquell’s account, she was no longer looking at the marriage only as a wife trying to decide whether a relationship could survive. She was making decisions as a mother too — and 2023 brought the first clear sign that the marriage had already reached a breaking point once before.

They Had Already Tried to Start Over

Raquell sought a restraining order against Gabe in April 2023 during an earlier separation. The order was dismissed, and the couple did not stay apart for good.

Instead, they reconciled in March 2024 and tried again. Months later, Raquell posted the affectionate November video that remains pinned to her account — a public sign that the couple had chosen to give the marriage another chance.

But Raquell claims the problems continued after the reconciliation. She describes arguments during which Gabe allegedly called a “roll call,” making people in the house line up, remain silent unless spoken to, and wait until they were dismissed.

She Says One Family Loss Changed Things at Home

Raquell points to Billy Brown’s death in February 2021 as another turning point. She claims that after Gabe lost his father, the alleged abuse became worse and that Gabe began experiencing what she described as night terrors.

During those episodes, Raquell alleges Gabe would sometimes punch, kick, or choke her while she slept. She also claims that while pregnant, she sometimes locked herself in a bathroom during arguments and that there were occasions when she was prevented from reaching the children to comfort them.

Billy’s death was only one of several painful chapters the Brown family would face. Ami Brown had survived a serious cancer battle, Snowbird “Bird” Brown had faced major health problems, and the family suffered another loss when Gabe’s brother Matt died in May 2026 — after Gabe and Raquell had already separated.

The “Wolfpack” Had Already Seen Another Marriage Break

Gabe is not the first Brown brother whose marriage has ended up connected to public domestic violence allegations. His brother Bear was arrested in March 2022 and charged with fourth-degree assault for domestic violence following an incident involving his then-wife, Raiven Adams.

That case was entirely separate from Gabe and Raquell’s marriage, and it does not establish whether Raquell’s allegations against Gabe are true. Bear and Raiven later divorced, adding another split to a family viewers had spent years watching insist that the Wolfpack stayed together.

Now Gabe and Raquell are also trying to work out what remains after a marriage ends — with 3 children connecting them long after the romantic part of their relationship is over. And Raquell’s declaration makes clear that her biggest fear about the future is no longer whether the marriage can be repaired.

What Is Left When a 7-Year Marriage Ends

Raquell is now asking the court to help determine the next stage of life for a family that once lived under one roof. Her filing puts the children, their safety, and their future at the center of what she wants resolved as the divorce moves forward.

It is a very different picture from September 2025, when Gabe was filming from the hospital and calling Raquell “a trooper” after the birth of their third baby. It is even farther from 2019, when the newlyweds talked about how lucky they felt to have found one another.

And perhaps the simplest reminder of that distance is still sitting on Raquell’s own page: a pinned video from a time when she was publicly celebrating the marriage she is now asking a court to end. Her declaration explains, in her own words, why she says that marriage could no longer be saved.
