The 33-year-old shared daughter Aurora Raina Urker with Blanchard, whose relationship with him stretched back years and included an engagement, separation, and eventual reunion.

But within hours of the news breaking, two sharply different accounts of where their relationship stood emerged. Urker's sister, Autumn, made a blunt claim about the couple before Blanchard gave her own account of his death.

Urker Was Found Dead at His Louisiana Home

Urker was found dead at a residence in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 1, according to the Lafourche Sheriff's Office. The date was his 34th birthday.

The sheriff's office told TMZ that deputies responded after receiving a call at approximately 6:15 p.m. Authorities said Urker was already dead when they arrived and that the death investigation was continuing.

Family sources told the outlet that Urker had been found unresponsive at the home. He was 33, and October 1 would have been his 34th birthday.

According to the outlet's sources, Blanchard had sent Urker a "Happy Birthday" text but received no response. Her brother, Dylan, later discovered Urker inside the home, the sources said.

No official cause or manner of death was announced by the sheriff's office in the information provided. The investigation remained ongoing.

Blanchard later offered her own account of what happened, but before that statement emerged, Urker's sister spoke publicly about another part of the story: his relationship with Blanchard.

His Sister Says the Couple Had Split

Only hours after Urker's death, his sister Autumn appeared on TikTok Live and answered questions from people following the developing news.

During the livestream, Autumn made clear that, according to her, Urker and Blanchard were no longer together when he died. "They've been split up," she said, according to Parade.

Her statement added a new layer to the situation because Blanchard subsequently referred to Urker as her partner while speaking about his death. Autumn's account and Blanchard's description therefore presented different pictures of their relationship at the time.

Autumn also accused Blanchard of being responsible for information about Urker's death reaching TMZ. No evidence establishing who provided the information to the outlet was included in the sources.

"See, this is why I came on here, because I knew that [expletive] would go to TMZ. You cold-bloodedly murdered your mother for [expletive]. You are a vile human being. You're sick in the head…" Autumn said.

The accusation did not end there. Autumn specifically addressed TMZ's report that Blanchard had wished Urker a happy birthday but received no reply.

"Of course you went to TMZ that you texted him 'happy birthday' and didn't get a response. You ain't been getting a response," she said.

The comments brought renewed attention to a relationship that had already gone through several major changes over the years.

Their Relationship Went Back Years

Urker and Blanchard first connected while she was incarcerated for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Urker proposed in October 2018.

Although they later called off the engagement, they reunited in August 2019 before eventually separating again for several years. During their time apart, Blanchard married Ryan Anderson.

She was released from prison in December 2023 and announced her separation from Anderson four months later. Blanchard and Urker reconciled in April 2024. Eight months later, in December 2024, they welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.

The couple's history made Autumn's claim that they had separated before Urker's death especially notable. It also stood in contrast to the language Blanchard used when she broke her silence.

Blanchard Says Urker Overdosed

On Friday, October 2, Blanchard spoke to People about Urker's death and said she believed he had overdosed. That account had not been announced as an official cause of death by authorities in the information available.

The Lafourche Sheriff's Office said its investigation was still underway. Blanchard also said she did not know whether the alleged overdose was deliberate. "I don't know if it was intentional or not," she said. "He was not in a good state of mind lately."

Blanchard told People that Urker died in his bed at his Raceland home. A source close to the family also confirmed to the outlet that he was found dead there on October 1, his birthday.

Speaking about learning of his death, Blanchard said, "I'm in disbelief. I can't think. I've screamed until my throat burns." Blanchard described Urker as a devoted father and said he was deeply loved.

She also called him her soulmate and spoke about the lasting connection she believed they shared. She said Urker had faced intense public attention during their relationship, including what she described as harassment and cyberbullying on TikTok and Reddit.

According to Blanchard, that online treatment had a significant effect on him. She said she hoped his death would remind people that there is a real person behind online posts, headlines, and comments.

Her remarks about online scrutiny represented Blanchard's own assessment of its effect on Urker. Authorities had not connected his death to social media harassment in the information provided.

Their Daughter Remains at the Center of Blanchard's Statement

Blanchard also focused on the daughter she and Urker shared. She said she wanted Aurora to grow up knowing who her father was beyond what strangers had said about him online.

Blanchard said their daughter was a reflection of Urker and that part of him would continue through her. She also said she intended to make sure Aurora knew how much her father loved her.

Blanchard ended her statement by asking for privacy and compassion for Aurora, both families, and others mourning Urker. The comments came less than a day after authorities were called to the Raceland residence.
