Inside Pamela Anderson's Sprawling British Columbia Estate — and the Garden That She Says Brought Her Life Back Together — 40+ Photos
The "Baywatch" star's island home looks like a lovely place to escape, but the life she has built there makes those garden gates even more inviting.
Pamela Anderson, 59, has spent the years since her 2020 return to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, turning a beloved family property into something extraordinary. As of October 2026, the grounds are flourishing, but getting to this chapter meant facing far more than an overgrown garden.

Pamela Anderson reflects on her youth in a nostalgic snapshot, sitting on the grassy field of a baseball stadium while wearing a vintage Los Angeles Dodgers jersey tee. Looking gently into the lens with loose blonde locks, she captures the free-spirited nature that preceded worldwide fame. Promoting her memoir "Love, Pamela," she paired the image with lines from the book reminiscing about being an innocent, imaginative tomboy building sandcastles and creating her own world. | Source: Instagram/pamelaanderson

The Family Property Had Been Waiting for Her
Long before the television cameras and red carpets, Pamela had a connection to this patch of Canada that fame could never replace. This was where she came home from the hospital as a newborn, and where her grandfather helped plant her love of gardening.
The property, now known as Arcady, includes a former motel once owned by her grandmother. Pamela later bought it, bringing a piece of her family's past back into her own hands.
In Ladysmith, on Vancouver Island's east coast, the setting is quite something. From her windows, she can see the ocean, orcas, and snow-capped mountains. Yes, that is the view from home. No wonder she wanted to stay.

Still, the scenery was only part of the pull. These were familiar grounds, tied to the people who knew her before the world had decided who she was supposed to be.
Speaking to Architectural Digest in June 2025, Pamela traced her interest in growing food back to a childhood discovery: she could pick blackberries from a bush or reach for a crabapple in a tree and eat them.
Once she understood where food came from, having a garden of her own became an exciting possibility. Years later, that early thrill would help her find a way forward through a very grown-up mess.

Pamela Anderson channels her iconic 1990s glamour during the Cannes Film Festival promotion of "Barb Wire," wearing a strapless black leather bustier, matching elbow-length gloves, and dark sunglasses pushed atop voluminous blonde waves. Looking back on her past public persona with grace and gratitude, she shared the classic throwback memory for International Women's Day: "A woman is all she has seen in her life .. her favorite moments are the free ones - I am blessed A memory… #internationalwomensday 🤍". | Source: Instagram/pamelaanderson
Before that, though, there was an entire life to live away from the island.
She Wanted to Act, Fall in Love, and Raise Her Boys
Pamela's rise through Playboy and "Baywatch" made her one of the most recognizable women in entertainment. Getting people to see beyond the famous image proved much harder.
In footage from 1991, later included in her Netflix documentary, she spoke eagerly about wanting to shine as an actress. She had ambitions, but the attention paid to her body often drowned them out.

Her private life soon became public property, too. In 1995, she married musician Tommy Lee on a beach in Cancun, Mexico, wearing a bikini while he wore board shorts. It was a wedding with very little interest in convention.
But at its heart, though, Pamela says she wanted something quite simple. "We just wanted to have babies and be together forever," she told People in 2023.
The couple welcomed their sons, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee, and they lived happily for some time. Looking back in her memoir, "Love, Pamela," she wrote, "My relationship with Tommy may have been the only time I was ever truly in love."

Unfortunately, their marriage came under even more crushing pressure after private, intimate recordings were stolen from a safe in their garage and sold by others. Pamela said she had never watched the stolen tape, even as strangers continued to profit from it.
Then, in 1998, there was violence at home. In her memoir, Pamela described Tommy twisting her arm while she held seven-month-old Dylan, with Brandon nearby, before throwing her and the baby into a wall.
She called 911. Tommy was arrested and served six months in jail. "Our hell began," Pamela wrote. She filed for divorce and turned her attention to protecting her children. But that decision wasn't so simple.

"The divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life," she wrote. "I was crushed. I still couldn't believe that the person I loved the most was capable of what had happened that night."
Still, there was something much more important than how she felt about him.
"We were both devastated, but I had to protect my babies."

A nostalgic family throwback captures Pamela Anderson smiling down adoringly at her baby son Brandon Thomas Lee, who looks out wearing a backwards red baseball cap. Looking back on raising her boys with enduring devotion and pride, she reflected on their lifelong bond with touching gratitude: "There have been many ups and downs, and they have proved time again their resilience and strength. Despite everything, the actress said they would check in occasionally. "Tommy is the father of my kids, and I'm forever grateful," she told People.
Pamela went on to marry Kid Rock, Rick Salomon, and Dan Hayhurst. She and Rick wed twice, with one of those marriages annulled, while her marriage to Dan lasted less than a year and ended in 2021.
Through the changes in her love life, she kept working to support her sons. Some of their happiest memories, as it turned out, came from a place far less grand than the houses people might imagine.

Pamela told AnOther in its Spring/Summer 2026 interview that Brandon and Dylan loved their years in Paradise Cove, the Malibu trailer park where they lived. Despite all the impressive homes and destinations they had experienced, that was the time they remembered most fondly.
Coming Home Meant Facing a House in Ruins
By 2020, around the start of the pandemic, Pamela was ready to return to British Columbia. After so many years of having her every move watched, she longed to get her hands dirty in a garden of her own, back among the trees she had known since childhood.
In a September 2024 interview with Better Homes & Gardens, quoted by People, she explained the feeling behind that move. "I came to a point where I decided to move home and disappear and get into my garden," she said.
And the actress didn't just disappear into the garden there; she made it bigger. Expanding it became "really like a metaphor of putting my life back together," she added, while "the smallest things became really profound." But coming home did not mean walking into a perfectly restored family retreat. There was serious work waiting for her.
A Funky Grandma's Dream

"I mean, you should see the before pictures," Pamela said. "It was decayed and rotten to the ground. I lived in another little house on the beach that I had that was livable."
But Pamela turned things around, and also began learning more about growing food, drawn to the idea that a garden could change each year. Crops could be moved, beds could be replanted, and an unsuccessful season did not have to be the final word.
For a woman trying to start over, that held real appeal.

Her sons became part of the project when the garden needed fencing to keep deer out. Together, they helped design a much larger growing space than Pamela had first pictured. "It was so much bigger than I thought it was going to be!" she told Architectural Digest.
By 2026, that space stretched across 15,000 square feet, according to Upworthy. A little vegetable patch had become a major part of the estate. And the harvest was about to reach well beyond her own kitchen.

Beyond the Gates, Everything Is Growing
Arcady's garden is gloriously generous. Wildflowers share the grounds with herbs, while fruit and vegetables make the space useful as well as beautiful.
In a July 2026 Instagram post, Pamela gave followers a glimpse of purple and orange flowers, enormous leaves, and sunflowers stretching high above the beds. Vines climbed over garden arches and wooden pergolas.
There is plenty to catch the eye, but Pamela has clear favorites among all that growth. "I love my Yves Piaget roses. I also harvest rose hips and make face oils and all sorts of beauty treatments out of them," she told Architectural Digest during an interview in 2025.

Her heirloom tomatoes get their share of affection, too. Pamela, who also discussed her vegan cookbook with the same outlet, called an heirloom tomato salad her idea of perfect food.
The harvests have also become part of her growing presence on social media. She joined TikTok in August 2026, and by early October had posted six videos from Arcady.

In her October 3 clip, she arranged a basket filled with pumpkins, corn, and other gourds. Autumn at Pamela's house comes with a very well-stocked basket.
The best part is that those baskets travel. Friends and neighbors receive produce, along with local churches, schools, soup kitchens, and food banks. She discussed sharing while talking to People about her latest Sonsie collaboration, the Basic Balm in Wild Groundcherry.

The flowers may be the first things that draw you into the pictures. Knowing how much food leaves those gates makes the grounds even more beautiful.
Hollywood Had Other Plans for Her Quiet Life
Pamela had imagined stepping away from the spotlight completely after finding such contentment in her garden. Her career, however, was about to become far more interesting.
In 2022, Broadway offered her the role of Roxie Hart in "Chicago." Then, her Netflix documentary, "Pamela, a Love Story," and memoir, "Love, Pamela," both arrived on January 31, 2023.
The documentary earned an Emmy nomination, and the book became a bestseller. Then Gia Coppola cast her in "The Last Showgirl," giving Pamela a leading role that brought further nominations.
After years of wanting to be taken seriously as an actress, she was getting the chance to show what she could do. Retirement would have to wait. "And I thought, OK, I guess I'm not done," she told AnOther.
Her appearance in the 2025 reboot of "The Naked Gun" added a major studio comedy to that run. More film work followed, including Michael Cera's directing debut, "Love Is Not the Answer."
Pamela finished filming it shortly before Christmas 2025. She plays Jean, a woman stalked by a limousine driver portrayed by Steve Coogan. Billed as an absurdist comedy about modern loneliness and the search for connection, the film demanded a lot from her. The role also came with red hair, a striking change from her familiar blonde.
"It was three months of real immersion in this person, and it took me a while to shake off," she told AnOther. Going blonde again helped her leave Jean behind. Hair, she explained, could be a useful way of letting a character go.
Sadly, the work has often made getting back to Vancouver Island more difficult. Pamela described moving from job to job, with her home feeling a little isolated when she needed to travel so often.
Still, she approaches employment with the habits of someone who has always felt responsible for keeping things going. "I live cheque to cheque, I'll never shake that," she said. "I'm just very old school and simple."

She also spoke about disliking debt and appreciating another chance at her career. Having spent years feeling minimized, she now has experiences she wants to explore through her work.

When she finally gets home, the garden helps her settle. "It's grounding for me," she told People. "I get home with my dogs and I get in the garden and I start throwing them vegetables through the fence."

That is quite a homecoming after a film set or a red carpet. But there's so much to do in her estate.
She Has Her Own Idea of Romance Now
Inside the house, Pamela has found pleasures that need no grand occasion. She gets to live among her books, with five dogs, the garden, and the sea close by.
Speaking to People in 2023, she sounded delighted at being single and with the life she had made for herself. "I live a more romantic life now that I'm alone than I did in relationships," she explained.

For all the famous men and much-discussed weddings in her past, her description of an evening at home could be much more desirable.
"I light my candles, have my music playing. I have my piano, I'm sure it would be lovely if someone else was in my life and wanted the same thing but I've just never met them," she said.
The actress added, "It's usually about catering to them, and there has to be a balance."

By 2026, she was speaking just as warmly about having the freedom to make her own choices. Work could be about the character she wanted to play, without worrying about whether someone at home would approve.
"I don't have to please anybody else," she told AnOther. "That's a real freedom."

She had also made peace with arriving on a red carpet looking a little imperfect. Pamela considered that part of her charm, and frankly, the ease suits her.
At Arcady, she has built a life around things she enjoys doing, from playing music to growing the ingredients for a meal. And when it comes to flowers, Pamela has removed any need to wait for a romantic gesture.
"I don't need someone to bring me roses," she told People. "I've just planted a hundred rose bushes. I can get them any time I want."
