What should have been a flight to Canada ended in an emergency response. As questions emerged about the failed takeoff, an air traffic control recording captured the pilot's urgent transmission.

According to People, the "Boston Blue" star was traveling on a private jet bound for Toronto Pearson Airport when the departure went wrong around 11 a.m. local time.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the pilot aborted the takeoff before the aircraft went off the runway and struck a fence.

The agency did not explain what prompted the decision to stop. But the collision was only part of what unfolded beyond the runway.

The Pilot's Decision That Sent Wahlberg's Jet Beyond the Runway

The aircraft never became airborne, yet it continued beyond the runway after the pilot abandoned the departure.

The FAA confirmed the collision but did not specify how far the jet traveled before hitting the fence or what caused the aborted takeoff.

An air traffic control recording shared on TikTok by @alwaysliveatc captured a brief exchange during the emergency.

The recording appears to include a transmission from the pilot as the attempted departure was being abandoned.

A voice can be heard repeating two words: "Aborting. Aborting." An air traffic controller then confirmed that emergency vehicles were on their way and asked whether anyone had been injured.

Another account would reveal what the aircraft had narrowly avoided before coming to a stop.

The Obstacles Wahlberg's Jet Nearly Hit Beyond the Runway

Wahlberg later shared an Instagram video describing the incident from inside the aircraft. "I'm okay," he began. The actor recalled the moment he realized the plane was not getting airborne.

"We, uh, we're taking off and didn't get up in the air," he said, explaining that the aircraft had run out of runway.

What happened beyond the runway was particularly frightening. Wahlberg described several obstacles near the jet's path. "I'm not sure how many fences we avoided, but we didn't avoid the last one," he said.

He also said the aircraft avoided trucks, heavy equipment, and dumpsters. Wahlberg credited the pilots with preventing a far more serious outcome. "God is good," he said.

The experience also brought back a moment of prayer shortly before Wahlberg realized the flight would not proceed as planned. "We just finished praying, and I looked out the window," he recalled.

He then described what he said as the attempted departure went wrong. "We are not going up in the air today."

What Wahlberg Revealed About the Eight People Aboard the Jet

Wahlberg shared more about the experience in the caption accompanying his Instagram video, explaining why he decided to speak publicly.

After receiving numerous concerned messages and texts, he posted a recording originally intended for friends and family. "Yes, it was me and my team/friends onboard the aircraft," he wrote.

The actor also described how the emergency felt from inside the plane, where the brief incident seemed to stretch much longer. "It was a rather intense few moments," he wrote, adding that it felt like several long minutes.

Wahlberg thanked the pilots for their actions and credited them with keeping everyone safe. He also expressed gratitude to the emergency personnel who responded in Las Vegas.

Although the aircraft sustained damage, he confirmed that those aboard had escaped injury. "The airplane did take some lumps — but we did not," he wrote. Wahlberg ended his message with a final expression of gratitude. "All glory to God! By His grace, we are all ok," he wrote.
