In her first post, Gracie, daughter of country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, shared a graphic with the message, "EVERYONE GET MORE GAY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Below it, she added, "HAPPY FREAKING PRIDE. I love being queer."
Shortly after, Gracie responded to how some media outlets interpreted her post. In a follow-up story, she clarified her stance and addressed the headlines.
"Hello all!! It has come to my attention that some tabloids have taken an Instagram story I posted yesterday and have used it as click bait saying I've 'come out,' she began. "Let me be VERY clear here….. I've been an out and proud queer, bisexual woman and I wouldn't have it any other way."
She continued by expressing her ongoing support for the LGBTQIA+ community and highlighted the importance of love and safety during Pride Month. She also thanked the tabloids for acknowledging Pride Month, despite their framing.
"So many people out there don't have the support, love, or understanding from their families when it comes to their sexuality or gender identity, but just know that there is a beautiful community out there that loves you and cares about and for you!! Check on your people and keep safe out there. Give love to each other," she concluded.
In her third Instagram story, Gracie shared another post emphasizing the roots of Pride Month. The image featured the statement, "Pride began as a riot led by Black & Brown trans activists," repeated multiple times. She penned, "While you're here Let's not forget how pride began."
Gracie's posts received a variety of responses across social media platforms. The response on Facebook was mostly positive. One person wrote, "All for attention [sic]." "Good for her," said another person.
Yet another fan shared, "I'm optimistic that her parents will support her. They've always been forward thinkers in my opinion." One comment read, "And I hope they love and support her no matter what." "Good for her! Nobody should feel ashamed for being attracted to or loving the same gender," another netizen added.
Meanwhile, on Instagram, the feedback was mixed. One person remarked, "I don't understand the need to announce this sort of thing publicly. Just seems attention seeking to me. Love whoever you want to love [sic]."
Another divulged, "It's fine however one identifies… just don't see the need to parade it around and make a big deal about it [sic]." A more supportive comment stated, "You do whatever makes yourself happy no matter what anybody else thinks and your parents will always. Love you no matter what [sic]."
Beyond her public statements, Gracie has also been making strides in her professional life. In November 2024, she made her off-Broadway debut in a production titled "BABE."
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she celebrated the occasion, calling it a dream come true. "Today is the day!! It is opening night of BABE!!!!!" she announced, expressing pride in taking on a "3 person play."
She acknowledged her insecurities and vulnerability, saying the experience was one of the most significant moments in her career. Gracie credited director Scott Elliott for giving her the opportunity and shared her gratitude for writer Jess Grose, calling the play a "banger of a show."
Gracie also reflected on seeing her face in Times Square, describing the moment as surreal. She had often dreamed of performing in New York City, and finally doing so filled her with "gratitude and radiant pride."
While her recent work marks a milestone, Gracie's artistic path has long been encouraged by her family. In an interview with People from August 2020, Tim described his daughters, including Gracie, as "independent" and "confident," noting their willingness to speak up for others.
"They don't tolerate injustice for anybody," Tim said. He spoke proudly of Gracie's decision to pursue acting, saying she made him proud "every day of the way she lives her life."
A year prior, in 2019, the country singer shared more about his eldest daughter's ambitions during an interview with Taste of Country. At the time, Gracie had just moved to Los Angeles to chase her acting dreams.
Tim admitted it was bittersweet to see her leave but admired her bravery. "To have the gumption to go out and chase your dreams … it feels like we did a pretty good job," he revealed. He also mentioned her time in an alt-rock band during high school and his efforts to attend her performances whenever possible.
Gracie continues to receive love and encouragement from her family. On May 5, 2025, Tim celebrated her birthday with a touching Instagram message. "Can't believe this little bit turns 28 today! Happy birthday to our Gracie!" he wrote. "You are a light in this world my sweet girl. So much heart, soul, respect and yes LOADS of talent!!! … I love you my little girl - Dad."
Gracie's personal and professional milestones, shared candidly and confidently, reflect a path shaped by resilience, authenticity, and strong family support.
