A cheeky reenactment of a royal throwback has captured the palace's attention — and its approval.

On June 25, 2025, British television personality Jamie Laing and his wife, Sophie Habboo, shared a playful parody of Meghan Markle's now-viral "Baby Mama Dance" video, sparking a light-hearted response from the official Royal Family Instagram account.

Jamie and Sophie's video recreated the dance on a red-carpeted staircase inside Buckingham Palace. They humorously mirrored Meghan and Prince Harry's moves to the same song, which worked great because Sophie is also pregnant.

The text on the video reads, "The Royal Baby has arrived," and their caption stated, "They said we couldn't film in Buckingham Palace… @sophiehabboo @kingstrust." As of this writing, the post has garnered over 70,000 likes.

However, there was a surprising twist: the Royal Family's official Instagram account commented, "We see you 👀😉," seemingly responding to the fact that the couple had filmed at the palace. The remark swiftly received more than 10,000 likes and prompted an outpouring of amused replies from viewers.

Meanwhile, Meghan's original video, posted to her Instagram account on June 4, showed her dancing joyfully while heavily pregnant with daughter Lilibet, accompanied by Prince Harry in a hospital room.

The clip was captioned, "Four years ago today, this also happened," and went on to explain that both of their children had been overdue, and dancing was their final effort to induce labor.

Set to Starrkeisha's "The Baby Momma Dance," the moment highlighted a carefree and candid side of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that quickly spread online and, as evidenced above, sparked many different reactions.

Almost two weeks later, Meghan herself reflected on the video during a June 17 conversation on "Aspire with Emma Grede."

As the two discussed how much audiences crave authenticity from public figures, Meghan brought up the now-viral clip and asked, "Did you see my baby momma dance?"

Host Emma Grede lit up. She said the timing couldn't have been better, and added that she had watched the clip around 20 times the day before.

"Oh my god, Prince Harry is there with the fingers. Okay, okay, get in, Harry, let's go," the host commented excitedly, and then turned more contemplative, "But I think that's you, right? Like that's you in a way that we kind of haven't been able to see you before."

Meghan agreed and explained that the video wasn't recent. It was a reminder that there's life outside public scrutiny, full of authenticity and joy. "I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms," the duchess said.

Emma emphasized how important ownership is. Meghan agreed once again, describing her return to Instagram as freeing rather than overwhelming. The account had launched in January, marking her first time back since the era of Boomerang and a time before stories, reels, or influencer gadgets.

She admitted to still figuring out new tools, like tripods, magnetic mounts, and lights, but none of that seemed essential.

The goal was to share real moments as they happened, moments someone might laugh at, enjoy, or draw inspiration from. "I want to do that in a way that feels like I can still have my hands on it and not be overproduced," Meghan explained.

When asked whether she approached the platform as a business tool, Meghan Markle was clear: not for her personal account. For her, the platform is exactly what it looks like — an honest space to reclaim her voice and share her joy. "That is the intention of my handle," she stated.
