Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon looked close and affectionate at the US Open men's final - but some people online could not get past what she was wearing.

De Ramon arrived in blue jeans and an elaborate white floral top that quickly caught attention online. As photos from the couple's day at the tournament circulated, people had plenty to say about her choice.

On September 13, Pitt and de Ramon returned to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City for Day 15 of the 2026 US Open. From the stands, they watched Alexander Zverev face Ben Shelton in the men's singles final.

Photos captured affectionate moments in the stands. Pitt and de Ramon sat close together, held hands, chatted, and applauded during the match.

Pitt kept his outfit casual in a dark blue shirt layered over a white top. He added a backward navy baseball cap, gold-framed aviator sunglasses, a gold necklace, and a watch.

De Ramon opted for the more detailed look, wearing a white top decorated with pink and green floral embroidery. Cutouts exposed her shoulders, while white trim added texture to the design. She teamed the top with blue jeans, gold jewelry, and a loose updo, leaving her bangs to frame her face.

Her outfit soon became a talking point online.

On Instagram, one netizen summed up the initial confusion with a simple question: "What is she wearing." Another user focused instead on de Ramon and Pitt as a couple, sharing, "I like her I think she is beautiful! I am happy for them both!❤️."

The decorative design inspired a less flattering comparison from another commenter: "Did she make the top from her grandma's curtains?"

One viewer saw potential in the piece but took issue with how it came together, writing, "The top could have been good with a few adjustments. The proportions are wrong."

Not everyone agreed with the criticism. Someone else remarked, "Her beautiful elegant top though 🤍✨."

One of the harsher reactions took the household-furnishings comparison even further. A commenter wrote, "It looks like she is wearing a Target curtain or Target tablecloth that's all cut up. She definitely wants to be noticed in this weird scrappy top. Trashy."

On Facebook, the conversation took a different turn as users found another interpretation for de Ramon's white look.

Someone else asked, "Is that a wedding dress??? 😢" Another commenter brought a bridal reference into the discussion, writing, "Here comes the bride... did the stylist take a day off???"

Someone else went further with the speculation, remarking, "Dropping marriage hints all day long 😅."

De Ramon's much-discussed outfit also followed another distinctive white look at the tournament just one day earlier.

According to InStyle, she attended Day 14 in a strappy white newspaper-print dress from John Galliano. The look resembled the Christian Dior minidress worn by Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Season 3 of "Sex and the City," which was also designed by Galliano.

De Ramon's dress, however, came from Galliano's own label rather than Dior. She wore her dark brunette hair in a sleek center part and completed the look with black oval sunglasses, a silver hardware watch, and a black Hermès Kelly bag.

Pitt chose a casual combination of a light blue short-sleeved polo and medium-wash jeans. A backward blue baseball cap and navy gradient sunglasses rounded out his look, along with his longer, gray-streaked beard.

Beyond their back-to-back appearances at the US Open, Pitt and de Ramon had already taken a significant step in their relationship.

In October 2025, People reported that the couple were "fully living together" after moving into a new home. Pitt and de Ramon had been linked since 2022 and made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.

One source gave the outlet a glimpse of the couple's life together beyond their public appearances.

"Brad is really including Ines in all his travel plans, and when they are home, they just relax together," the source said. "They are really making their home into a home."

De Ramon was also by Pitt's side for much of the press run for his "F1"-inspired movie that year. Another source offered an upbeat assessment of their relationship, describing the pair as "happier than ever" and "going really strong."

The insider added of Pitt, "He's so happy and in love" as the couple planned for the future.

Nearly a year later, their appearance at the US Open offered another public glimpse of that closeness. Pitt and de Ramon held hands, chatted, and watched the men's final side by side.

De Ramon's outfit may have prompted everything from praise to curtain comparisons and bridal jokes online, but the photos captured a couple enjoying another public outing together.
