Earlier this week, a tragic accident in Malibu resulted in the death of Sophia Hutchins. She was best known for her long-time affiliation with Caitlyn Jenner, as the star's friend and manager, overseeing Jenner's public engagements and business ventures. The manager had a close bond with Jenner, who often shared posts with the late businesswoman and sang her praises. Hutchins died at 29.

Reports confirmed that Hutchins lost her life in a devastating All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) accident that occurred early Wednesday morning, July 2, 2025. According to law enforcement and family sources, she was operating the vehicle along the same stretch of road where Jenner resides.

The incident took a horrific turn when her ATV collided with the bumper of a moving car. The impact sent the vehicle careening off the road's edge, plunging an estimated 350 feet into a ravine below.

First responders arrived swiftly but, tragically, were unable to save her. Hutchins was pronounced dead at the scene. Despite the severity of the crash, no one else sustained injuries, as the two individuals traveling in the car that was struck reportedly emerged unharmed.

At present, it remains unclear whether Jenner was at home or witnessed the fatal accident unfold. Additionally, TMZ reached out to the sports icon for comment but has not heard back from her.

Hutchins' connection to Jenner began in 2015, shortly after the Olympian publicly came out as transgender. Their introduction marked the beginning of a deeply rooted friendship that would blossom both personally and professionally.

The late manager quickly became a visible presence in Jenner's orbit, appearing alongside her in several episodes of the E! docuseries "I Am Cait."

One glimpse into their camaraderie came during a 2022 podcast appearance, where Jenner didn't hold back in praising Hutchins' intellect and leadership. "Sophia is the brains behind this whole thing," she said, referring to their shared business ventures. "I'm the front person, and she is the most amazing person. Smartest [sic] person I know, economics-finance major."

Jenner continued, "She was the state debate champion in high school, ok. The girl can talk — you can't win an argument with her." Her words painted a portrait of deep admiration for Hutchins, whose sharp mind and tenacity stood out just as much as her loyalty.

Their dynamic was further revealed when the conversation turned political. Jenner confirmed her support for U.S. President Donald Trump in a then-potential future run, a stance that sparked a candid — yet respectful — exchange between the two.

After Jenner asserted that Trump "comes with a lot of baggage," Hutchins chimed in without hesitation, saying, "There's no baggage. The baggage is that he's right on everything. We disagree, politically, but that's okay [...] I'm very, very heavily for Trump."

The moment, though politically charged, showcased their ability to navigate differences without letting them interfere with the closeness of their bond — a rare quality in both business and friendship.

Hutchins and Jenner's chemistry extended beyond interviews and boardrooms, often spilling over into social media, where Jenner proudly showcased their bond with moments of candid joy.

One such video shared on Instagram captured a lighthearted moment between the two as they prepared for the day. In it, Hutchins dances energetically in the background while doing her makeup, dressed in an all-white ensemble.

Another cherished moment Jenner chose to share with her followers came on her birthday — a milestone she celebrated surrounded by family and close friends, including Hutchins. In a warm Instagram post, Jenner uploaded a photo of an intimate dinner gathering.

Seated around a polished wooden table, the group included familiar faces like Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, and Jenner's two daughters. "Feeling very very blessed on my 71st birthday! Love you all so much!" Jenner captioned the photo, a message that resonated with gratitude and familial warmth.

The image spoke volumes — Hutchins wasn't just Jenner's manager or friend; she was someone who had been welcomed into the most personal corners of her life, joining celebrations and being embraced by family.

Despite years of public speculation, Hutchins was always clear about the nature of her relationship with Jenner, and she addressed rumors with honesty. In a 2021 interview, she firmly dismissed any notion of romance between the two.

"I don't want controversy. I am just trying to live my life," Hutchins expressed. "Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship. I feel so blessed and humbled to be a part of such an amazing family and [sic] that she treats me like a daughter."

She ended her reflections with a line that had become something of a mantra for her in the face of constant speculation, "There's no hanky panky. I feel like I've been saying that for the past five years."

Her words now echo with a poignant clarity. Hutchins leaves behind a legacy not just of business acumen and drive, but of honesty, devotion, and deep familial love.

At this time, we wish to extend our most heartfelt condolences to Jenner, all of Hutchins' family members, friends, loved ones, colleagues, community, and all who knew and loved her, as they mourn such a significant loss. We hope for their healing amid their time of grief. RIP, dear Hutchins.
