Public Reacts to Julia Roberts Celebrating Her 23rd Anniversary with Husband Daniel Moder – Photo
The 57-year-old "Pretty Woman" star marked another year of marriage with her husband by sharing an intimate photo, but not everyone online felt the love.
In honor of their 23rd wedding anniversary, Julia Roberts gave fans a glimpse into a peaceful getaway with her husband, cinematographer Daniel "Danny" Moder, by sharing a cozy Instagram photo from an undisclosed location.

The image showed their bare feet peeking out from a tent, with trees and hills stretching into the distance, hinting at a quiet outdoor getaway. Julia captioned the post, "You + Me = 23," followed by a string of fireworks emojis.
While the actress's tribute to 56-year-old Daniel may have been heartfelt, some viewers questioned the emotional weight and clarity of the photo.
"Heartfelt photo? It's feet…," commented one observer. Others seemed puzzled. "Whose feet are whose ??😳" asked another. A third reacted with disgust, "Ewe. Who's [sic] feet are hers." Another speculated, "They look like brother ans [sic] sister. Benjamin was her, [sic] the one."
Despite the skepticism, many fans responded with warmth and enthusiasm. One fan simply posted, "😍😍." Another supporter wrote, "Happy Anniversary Danny & Julia🍾🥂🌷🌺🎉❤️." A different admirer added, "Happy 23 years of bliss ❤️🎉," while someone else gushed, "They are so cute together. ❤️🎉🥂"
The "Notting Hill" actress has been married to Daniel for over two decades. Together, they share three children: 20-year-old twins Phinnaeus and Hazel Moder, and 18-year-old Henry Moder.
In an October 2022 interview with E! News, ahead of the release of her film "Ticket to Paradise," Julia shared a playful take on the secret to her successful marriage. "I always say that same thing and I'm sticking with it," she said. "It's making out. Lots of making out."
Julia also reflected on what matters most to her. When asked where she would go if she had a ticket to anywhere, she answered simply: family. "That's our paradise," she added. That focus on family came through once again this Mother's Day.
Daniel offered a rare look into their private family life on Sunday, May 11, posting a tribute on Instagram that included a candid photo of Julia smiling with their children.
The proud husband captioned the snapshot, "Mothers make the coolest stuff. Love these guys." The image quickly drew admiration from fans, many of whom filled the comment section with praise and affection for the family. "Beautiful mother and beautiful kids 😍," one fan wrote.
Others expressed surprise at how much the children have grown. "Wow, time flies! They are so big now 😍❤️❤️❤️," a fan said. Another added, "Kids are so grown up 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️ happy Mother's Day [sic]."
One supporter focused on family resemblance, writing, "While I agree with Julia that the kids look a lot like you [Daniel], Henry looks JUST like her here!"
The observation follows a sentiment Julia shared in a past interview with CBS Sunday Morning anchor Jane Pauley. Speaking about her children's appearance, she said, "I always think they all look like me, and then Danny comes home from work, and I go, 'Oh, you, that's who they look like.'"
Before they tied the knot, the duo met on the set of "The Mexican." Daniel was a cinematographer on the film, which starred Julia alongside Brad Pitt.
She once joked that, during filming, she felt like she was interrupting conversations between Daniel and her co-star. "I think he and Brad were crushing on each other," she quipped.
Despite her fame, Julia has made it clear that her family comes first. While she continues her career as a Hollywood actress, she doesn't view her professional and personal lives as equal in importance.
"It's just never consumed me, being an actor. It is my dream come true. But it is not my only dream come true," Julia admitted. Julia values the life she's built with her husband and children. "That's the best stuff, to come home at the end of the day triumphantly to them," she lovingly said.
In another conversation with British Vogue editor Richard Curtis, Julia shared that she was grateful for the timing of her career. "I didn't have to pick one or the other," she remarked, reflecting on how her success in acting came before she started a family.
She'd already been working for decades when she started a family with Daniel. So, by that time, she could decide when to pause work and when to focus on family.
Still, when she does take on acting projects, Julia said it's important for her children to see that creative side of her. "Going out of the house and being creative is really important and vital," she explained. "And it doesn't take away from my love of home."
Julia also spoke candidly about how different she looks in everyday life compared to the red carpet or during interviews. "I don't look like this. I look quite cute right now. Even after like 17 hours of working. I'm adorable," she joked.
Over the years, Julia has given fans occasional glimpses into her family life. She once described her daughter, Hazel, as "one-of-a-kind," highlighting her independence and humility.
Despite being the only daughter of a Hollywood icon, Hazel remains grounded, seeing her mom and dad simply as her parents, not as celebrities.
One time, while looking for prom dresses in her mom's closet, Hazel found the vintage Valentino gown Julia wore when she won the Best Actress Academy Award for the 2000 film, "Erin Brockovich."

It felt like a full-circle moment when her daughter tried it on, but the dress ended up being too big. "She looked so lovely," Julia gushed.
Ultimately, the actress revealed that Hazel likely didn't realize she had just tried on one of her mom's most iconic dresses. To her, it was just another vintage piece in her mom's wardrobe.
In 2021, when Daniel took Hazel to the Cannes Film Festival, Julia said her daughter treated the experience with casual grace.
While on FaceTime, the mom revealed seeing her daughter looking casual despite her daughter saying she was ready to go. She had a ponytail on and opted to go for a simple look.

When the "Leave The World Behind" actress suggested that she put on eyeliner, Hazel declined. Ultimately, Julia was amused by her daughter's response.
"I mean, who needs eyeliner? Just Cannes! I mean, it's just sweet, just the innocence. She's just with her dad. It's not about anything else," Julia shared.
Now that her children are older, Julia says she feels lucky to have been emotionally ready when she started her family. During a promotional tour for Ticket to Paradise with her longtime friend George Clooney, she shared that she values the openness she has with her kids.
Julia and Daniel's family is one many admire. Though they keep their private life mostly out of the spotlight, the rare moments they share with fans show a couple who have built a strong, lasting bond and continue to thrive together.
