A goodbye that leaves a silence impossible to fill, an emptiness that weighs on every corner where once there was laughter and hope.

The news shook an entire community that still struggles to assimilate what happened. The story of Lizeth and Gabriel, two young doctors, has gone from a tale of love and shared achievements to a symbol of grief.

Their friends and colleagues still remember the laughter and goals they celebrated together, while social networks are filled with farewell messages reflecting the impact of their departure.

Today, the memory of this couple and their young children lives on in the words of those who knew them. Each publication is a way to honor the memory of a family that, in a short time, left a mark on all those who surrounded them.

Who were Lizeth and Gabriel?

Lizeth González, originally from Nuevo León, graduated as a Surgeon and Midwife in 2019 from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. She later began her specialty in Gynecology and Obstetrics, a goal she always proudly shared on networks.

Gabriel Simental, a radiologist at Hospital Ángeles Lomas, was known for his professionalism and closeness with patients and colleagues. His social networks showed a man dedicated to his work and his family, with photographs of everyday moments that conveyed joy.

The couple married on September 16, 2022 in Monterrey, in the Las Nubes salon, and formed a family that was soon completed with the birth of their son Francisco Gabriel and their youngest daughter, Dandara. Their friends described them as soul mates, inseparable and deeply devoted to their children.

What happened on the day of their anniversary?

On September 16, 2025, Lizeth and Gabriel were celebrating their third wedding anniversary when an accident occurred on Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard in Cancun. Their two young children and other family members also died in the accident.

The tragedy left seven people dead and shocked the medical community and all those who followed the couple's life on social networks. Their last post had been a family trip to Disney in early 2025.

This tragic outcome coincided with a significant date for them, which has deepened the grief of their loved ones. For many, it is a doubly symbolic loss: that of a family and that of a love that was at its best.

Farewell messages from her family

Brenda González, Lizeth's sister, shared a message that has touched those who have read it, "My big sister, my example, my baby, my everything."

"I had the privilege of having you in my life and, even more, of being guided by your example. If God had given me the opportunity to choose my big sister again, I would choose you again one and a thousand times, until eternity," she wrote in the first part of her writing. She added:

"Thank you for accompanying me all these years, thank you for giving me the greatest blessing: my godchildren, Gabrielito and Dandara. My little angels, whom I always loved and will love as if they were my own. You gave me the joy of being an aunt and with that you gave me everything".

She continued: "You also gave me the best brother-in-law I could ever imagine. Gabriel, I always admired the way you cared for and protected your babies with all your might. I always knew that you and Liz were soul mates, inseparable, meant for each other. And maybe that's why God couldn't take just one away, because your love was not meant to be separated, but to be united for eternity along with the beautiful family you formed."

"Liz, I know you achieved all your dreams, and I will always be proud of you, my favorite OB/GYN. I love you with all my being, Lizeth, Gabriel, Gabito and Dandara. You will forever live in my heart and in my memory, as the most beautiful family I had the fortune to know, this is not a goodbye but a see you soon," she concluded.

Memories from friends and colleagues

Are Castillo, a close friend of Gabriel, recalled his first steps in medicine: "I still remember when you graduated in medicine and I congratulated you, then you scolded me for congratulating you before time (the congratulations were until you reached your goal) and you entered the faculty and you told me everything you were doing and your activities with great excitement, so much that you encouraged me to follow in your footsteps". He added:

"Then it was your turn to congratulate me and the last time we spoke we agreed to meet again one day as colleagues and we both did, but we never got to see each other again. The advice you gave me as a teenager and the music we listened to together is still present and I was always very proud to see the photos of the beautiful life you had, of all your achievements".

He ended with a message of admiration: "I always admired you very much and I will continue to do so... A hug to heaven to you and your family".

Beatriz Elías, representing the medical community of Hospital Ángeles Lomas, wrote: "All the physicians, residents and heads of the Imaging Service of the @Hospital Ángeles Lomas are in mourning. We are overcome with deep sorrow and immense sadness.

"We sympathize with your family and close friends. My faith is so great that I am sure that right now you are resting in the Kingdom of God: next to your wife, children and parents. We will remember you - and we will remember them - with love, because they are not completely gone. Your memories and the great moments we shared will always be present," he concluded.

Gabriel's friend, Alejandro Hay, also spoke out: "To think that the death of my friend Gabriel Simental and his family could have been avoided if the road had not been in those conditions and the recklessness of the driver who hit them had not combined? For Gabriel's family to see this, to know that we were fortunate to know him, it will take us a lifetime to accept this reality".

A community seeking comfort

Co-workers, friends and family agree that the best way to honor his memory is to keep alive the values they represented: professionalism, family love and generosity.

The images they have shared on social networks show Gabriel in operating rooms and professional meetings, always smiling, as well as Lizeth in family moments that are now a priceless memory.

This grief has united colleagues and neighbors who now seek comfort in the solidarity and words of encouragement that have been shared publicly.
