Newly Crowned Miss Universe Sparks Buzz Among Fans
Miss Mexico's win at the Miss Universe pageant has drawn widespread attention, bringing both congratulations and significant controversy.
Following Fatima Bosch's coronation, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) celebrated her victory, but reactions from viewers have been divided. Many congratulated her, while others questioned the outcome because of the recent confrontation involving the organization's Thailand director, Nawat Itsaragrisil.

Public Reactions Split and Allegations Intensify
The MUO's official announcement radiated excitement:
"Congratulations to our new Miss Universe. Tonight, a star was born. Her grace, strength, and radiant spirit captured the hearts of the world, and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her as our new queen. The universe shines a little brighter with her leading the way. ✨🌍👑"
Soon after the announcement, online reactions highlighted a sharp divide. Some viewers praised Bosch's performance, while others questioned the fairness of the result.
An admirer celebrated Bosch's win with the message,"Congratulations well deserved 👸❤️👏🏼," while others expressed frustration. One viewer wrote, "Never ever I will understand this result. We know what happened 🤐 [sic]."

A third comment voiced even more profound disillusionment, "Sorry this is unacceptable. Bye for now. Will be back when you crown the real winner."
The controversy surrounding the pageant fueled speculation among online commenters about what influenced the final decision. Some argued that the organization was attempting to repair its image, with one person claiming, "The organization needed a redemption story."

Another chimed in, "She was crowned miss Universe just because she was bullied at the beginning... cos if it wasn't for that then the crown would be for Namibia [sic]." One commenter speculated, "After the walk out. Nawat says I will take care of Mexico."
Others saw her win as a symbol of something greater. "She won because she stood for something that others won't," one comment read.
Others remained firmly unconvinced, including a commenter who wrote, "Sorry she only won because of the controversy. Of course she's beautiful but not deserving."
The commenter continued, "And yes, many will say she stood out because she spoke her voice when she was disrespected and represented women but all these beautiful remarkable women worked hard to represent their country. Rigged for the emotional aspect, not credible [sic]."
Incident in Thailand Before the Pageant
The dispute began earlier in the week during a pre-pageant sashing ceremony in Thailand, where Itsaragrisil confronted Bosch for not participating in a scheduled shoot. The moment sparked a quiet but powerful show of solidarity, with several contestants — among them the current Miss Universe, Denmark's Victoria Kjaer Theilvig — choosing to leave the room to stand with Bosch.

As she herself worked out of the promotional event, Bosch turned to the press, describing the director's behavior as disrespectful, saying:
"As a country, you have all my respect. I truly love Thailand. I respect all of you […] But what just your director [sic] did is not respectful. He called me dumb because he had problems with the organization. And I think that's not fair."
She didn't stop there. "I do everything okay, I don't mess with anyone, I just try to be kind [...] and he just shut me and he just said to me, 'shut up' and a lot of different things," she added. "I think that the world needs to see this because we are empowered women and this is a platform for our voice, and no one can shut our voice."
MUO Addresses the Situation
In response, MUO President Raul Rocha reportedly released a video statement criticizing the director's conduct. He said the behavior did not meet the standards expected of someone representing the host country. He noted that the executive would be removed from involvement in the pageant as the organization considers legal options.
Meanwhile, in a video statement reportedly shared on social media, Mr. Itsaragrisil addressed the situation directly, saying, "If anyone feels bad, uncomfortable, or affected, I apologise to everyone. I especially apologised to the girls who were present, around 75 of them."
Still, the controversy loomed large as Bosch took her final walk — straight into the crown.
Bosch Responds After the Controversy
MUO stated that the pageant remains committed to amplifying women's voices, a message Bosch also emphasized. During an interview, she reportedly stressed that she intends to use her title to speak with intention and confidence.

She described herself as someone with a clear sense of purpose and a message she believes deserves to be heard, rejecting the idea of being seen as ornamental or without agency.
New Allegations Surface
Separately from the earlier incident, new claims emerged hours after the Bosch was crowned the winner. Adding another layer of complexity, judge and composer Omar Harfouch — who resigned days before the final — publicly accused the organization of using an impromptu jury to pre-select finalists.
He also claimed there were potential conflicts of interest. On his social media, Harfouch alleged that business ties between Rocha and Bosch's father influenced the outcome. However, the MOU has not responded to these allegations.
Despite the debate surrounding her win, Bosch now steps into a reign shaped as much by public scrutiny as by support from those who believe in her message. With allegations, organizational tensions, and divided public opinion still unfolding, her tenure begins under an unusually bright spotlight.
How she navigates that attention — and the responsibilities that come with the crown — may ultimately define her time as Miss Universe more than the controversy that greeted her victory.
