Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos Enjoy a Night Out Together in Matching Black Outfits - Photos

You wouldn’t expect a date night to cause this much chatter, but Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos somehow managed to turn a simple dinner outing into a full-blown fashion moment. And trust us — once you see what she wore, you’ll understand why the internet had plenty to say.

Lauren stepped out in a nearly $10,000 ALAÏA Edition structured leather coat, a dramatic minidress-style piece crafted from 100% sheep leather and trimmed with real dyed shearling. The coat features an asymmetrical zip, exaggerated collar, and sculptural stitching — a bold, editorial silhouette designed to command attention long before she even reached the restaurant door.

The couple was photographed arriving at Bird Streets Club in L.A., with Lauren leading the way in her statement coat, sheer tights, and thigh-high black boots. The oversized shearling collar framed her face while the short hemline added an unexpected twist — part outerwear, part cocktail dress.

Jeff Bezos kept things sleek in an all-black look of his own: fitted tee, slim trousers, and polished boots, creating an unintentionally matching moment with his wife. While Lauren heated things up in winter-ready glamour, Jeff appeared more dressed for an August lunch than a December evening.

That contrast didn’t go unnoticed by the public. One viewer quipped, “She’s dressed for winter and he’s dressed for summer 😂😂.” Another echoed the sentiment almost word for word: “She is dressed for winter him for summer.” And one commenter pointed out the mismatch even more bluntly: “She’s wearing a fur lined leather coat and he’s in short sleeve T. Are they in same location?”

Then there was the matter of accessories — specifically, the sunglasses. “Why are they wearing sunglasses at night?” one commenter asked, while another joked, “Sunglasses at night. Tell me you're tacky without telling me that you're actually tacky.” A third person was even more baffled, writing, “Wearing sunglasses in the middle of the night!!??”

The length of Lauren’s coat also became a talking point. Online comments rolled in fast, with one asking, “Did she forget her pants?” while another wondered, “Where are her pants?” A more affectionate critique chimed in: “Love Lauren, but it's a wee bit too short😜.”

Despite the commentary, Lauren exuded full confidence — sunglasses on, a wide smile, and her hand intertwined with Bezos’ as they moved through flashing cameras. Her chic brown handbag added a warm contrast to the black-and-cream palette, giving the outfit a luxe finish.

Even in motion, the coat maintained its crisp, structured form, making Lauren look as if she had stepped straight out of an editorial shoot. It was dramatic, bold, and unapologetically the star of the night — whether viewers loved the styling choice or raised an eyebrow.

Jeff, meanwhile, seemed thrilled just to enjoy the night, completely unfazed by the swirl of commentary online. His minimalist ensemble created an interesting visual contrast, one that fans quickly turned into a meme-worthy moment.

Still, the pair walked hand-in-hand, looking relaxed and happy, proving that they’re well aware that fashion debates come with the territory. And if Lauren’s goal was to make headlines, she succeeded effortlessly — not because she tried too hard, but because she leaned into a dramatic piece that does its own talking.

Their date night, simple as it may have been, became another reminder that this couple doesn’t need a red carpet to turn heads. A sidewalk, some flash photography, and a very expensive coat will do just fine.

And while their L.A. date night sparked plenty of light-hearted fashion commentary, the tone around the couple shifted dramatically just months later as they faced a far more somber moment together.

As Jeff Bezos mourned the loss of his mother, Jacklyn, at her funeral in Florida, attention also turned to his wife, Lauren Sánchez, whose dress code prompted a wave of criticism online.

Jeff Bezos's mother, Jacklyn Gise Bezos, who died on August 14 at the age of 78, has been laid to rest. Her funeral on August 23 brought family and friends together to mourn her passing and honor her life.

News of her death was first shared by Jeff in a statement on Instagram. He revealed that she had been living with Lewy Body Dementia and reflected on the devotion she showed as a young mother.

He recalled how his mother became a parent at 17 and dedicated herself fully to raising her children, later welcoming his father, siblings, and grandchildren into what he described as her ever-growing circle of love.

"She always gave so much more than she ever asked for," Jeff wrote, adding that she passed away surrounded by family. Jacklyn was born on December 29, 1946, in Washington, D.C., to Lawrence Preston Gise and Mattie Louise Strait Gise.

Her childhood included a move to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she attended high school. It was there that she gave birth to her first child, Jeff, while still a teenager. As a young single mother, Jacklyn balanced the demands of raising her son with her determination to continue her education.

She often spoke of her dream to return to school, a goal she pursued by taking night classes while working during the day at a local bank. It was during those years that she met Miguel "Mike" Bezos, a Cuban immigrant who worked the night shift. Their paths crossed between shifts, and in 1968, the two married, beginning a partnership that would last nearly six decades.

Together, they built a home rooted in love, respect, and mutual devotion, raising three children — Jeff, Christina, and Mark. Education remained central to Jacklyn's life. She instilled the value of learning in her children and never lost sight of her own ambitions.

In 1991, at the age of 45, she returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with high honors from Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, New Jersey. Her pursuit of a degree decades after high school reflected her persistence and served as an example that it is never too late to follow one's dreams.

Jacklyn's resilience defined her journey — from teenage motherhood to building a family, and later to achieving her own educational goals. Her story became a lasting source of inspiration to those around her. She was laid to rest surrounded by those closest to her.

Jacklyn's death came over a month after her son Jeff tied the knot with Lauren in Venice, Italy. Ahead of the funeral service, Jeff and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, were seen arriving at a funeral home in Florida. Jeff wore a black suit, while Lauren stepped out in a navy jacket, black A-line skirt, and heels.

However, it was Lauren's outfit that quickly drew attention online. Social media users questioned her choice of clothing, posting comments such as, "What is she wearing???" Another remarked, "She had nothing appropriate to wear for a funeral so had to grab a blue blazer."

Someone else wrote, "Black dress and navy jacket looks awful." Another echoed the sentiment with, "Her outfit is SO disrespectful." Others criticized the color pairing, with one remarking, "Is she wearing a navy blue blazer with black??"

Her footwear became another point of discussion. "Wrong shoes," one person wrote, while another asked, "How can she walk that fast in those backless high heels? Condolences to his family." A third person added, "Very inappropriate shoes. Beautiful, but not for a funeral service."

Even Jeff himself was not spared from commentary. Netizens pointed out his expression, with one saying, "He's smiling," and another noting, "Weird... he's smiling in multiple pics posted on here." The images sparked a wave of debate, with many questioning the couple's appearance at such a solemn occasion.

We previously reported that in the lead-up to their Venice nuptials, Jeff presented Lauren with a diamond necklace estimated to cost between $3 million and $5 million, according to a source who spoke to Page Six. The statement piece featured a large center stone, matching earrings, and a design that fully circled Lauren's neck.

The source teased that the "elegant diamond necklace" might rival Jeff's own yacht in terms of visual impact, adding that Lauren was "thrilled" with the gift, which reportedly elevated her already notable jewelry collection. Though the exact jeweler remains undisclosed, non-disclosure agreements are said to be in place for all stylists and staffers involved in the wedding.

The Page Six insider also claimed that Lauren wore various jewels throughout the multi-day celebration, with the combined value of the pieces potentially exceeding $20 million.

The 55-year-old is said to take a meticulous approach to styling, reportedly having her full looks photographed in advance to ensure she's satisfied with how they will appear publicly. "So she knows what the photos will look like, and can change them if she's not absolutely thrilled with the way everything looks," the source said.

While the necklace marked one of many extravagant highlights during the wedding weekend, their whimsical wedding invitation didn't impress most netizens.

The couple's pastel-themed digital wedding invitation surfaced ahead of their multi-day celebration in Italy. Obtained exclusively by ABC News, the invitation asked guests not to bring gifts and instead honored three Venetian organizations with donations made on behalf of attendees.

Despite the philanthropic gesture, the design of the invite drew intense scrutiny across platforms. Some users were surprised by the casual, cartoonish style, given the high-profile nature of the event.

Another remarked, "This can't be the real invite." One user on Facebook mocked its appearance, saying it resembled a last-minute community college brochure project.
