They danced several songs together, and during one of them, Aaron told her they would get married someday. His prediction came true. After nearly three years of dating at iconic Beverly Hills spots, they married in 1968.

Their first dance as husband and wife was set to "My Funny Valentine," one of the songs that had played the night they met.

A Life of Legacy, Loss, and Reinvention

Candy always said she knew their relationship was forever, even as Aaron became one of the most powerful television writers and producers in the industry.

While he built his empire, she raised their two children and maintained their home for nearly four decades, supporting his success every step of the way.

"When Aaron died, I not only lost my life partner, but I was also suddenly missing the force of nature who had defined me and our family," she confessed. "For the first time in 38 years, I had to learn to function in the big, scary world on my own."

She did more than survive.

Candy created a name for herself as a producer, launching the HGTV series "Selling Spelling Manor". She later moved to New York City, where Broadway became her passion.

She went on to co-produce multiple Tony Award-winning productions, including "Moulin Rouge! The Musical", "The Color Purple", "MJ The Musical", and many more.

Decades after being introduced to the public as the elegant wife of a television mogul, Candy continues to command attention. This time, it's not for who she married, but for how she refuses to fade quietly into the background.
