The star has recently been in front of microphones, guitars, and cameras — but this time, some viewers were not only talking about the music. His recent appearance became the detail that sent Instagram commenters into a frenzy.

On May 17, 2026, a concertgoer shared an Instagram video of Gavin Rossdale performing live with his band Bush, gushing over the moment and what the music meant to them.

In the clip, Rossdale stands onstage in a sleeveless white shirt, guitar strapped across him, singing into the microphone as the lyrics to the band's popular track, "Glycerine," appear in over-laid text in the footage.

The close-up angles of Rossdale singing live show the rocker under bright stage lights, his hair pushed back and his tattooed arms visible as he performed. Then, in another moment, he lifts one hand while singing, with the words "I'm alone all the time" appearing onscreen.

Another still captures him looking straight ahead as the line "Are you at one?" appears over the video. Days before the concertgoer's post, Bush had shared a video from their NPR Music Tiny Desk performance on May 5, where Rossdale and the band also performed "Glycerine."

Moments from that video offer a different setting entirely. Instead of a large stage, Rossdale appears seated in the colorful, cluttered Tiny Desk space, holding his guitar while his bandmates sit and play their instruments behind him.

Upon a closer look at the "Can't Stop the World" artist, he appears serious and focused, wearing a dark, distressed shirt as he plays. The camera then moves in even tighter, showing his face as he sang passionately into the microphone.

The contrast between the intimate Tiny Desk visuals and the bright concert footage only made the online conversation louder. Both videos were the kind of performance clips that might normally have drawn nostalgic praise…but the comment section quickly took a different turn.

Some viewers focused less on performance and more on how Rossdale looked in the videos. Referencing his ex, Gwen Stefani, one Instagram user wrote, "He looks like he asked gwen [sic] for her plastic surgeon's number and she gave him the wrong one on purpose😂." Another was much more direct, commenting, "Facelift."

A third user added, "He looks like he had a facelift recently with an upper bleph. Those eye lids [sic] look freshly done." The speculation continued, with one person asking, "Is it botox? What is that [sic]."

Yet another spectator wondered, "Did he get an upper bleph?" One more simply asked, "What did he do to his face 😢."

Whether viewers were seeing him under stage lighting or in a stripped-down studio setting, his appearance became the unexpected talking point.

Rossdale himself has spoken openly about a factor of his appearance: aging. In a December 2025 interview with The i Paper, he said, "Ageing is a [expletive] drag. The wisdom, clarity and perspective that comes with it is really helpful, though."

The musician continued, "When I turned 40, I was so embarrassed and terrified, I thought: 'It's all over. No one cares.' Here I am, 20 years later. The only thing that bothers me is that I'm going to be a burden in 25 years."

That candid quote gives the latest buzz a slightly different layer. Rossdale has not exactly pretended aging is easy, and the public's fixation on his face shows just how closely people still watch famous performers as the years pass.

Aside from the attention his appearance has garnered, Rossdale's band, Bush, appears to be in a busy season professionally. In a March 24 tour announcement, the band shared dates for "The Land of Milk and Honey" with Mammoth and James and the Cold Gun, with shows listed from April into May.

The poster features a bold floral design with BUSH across the top, and a bright note advertising "I beat loneliness 2 for 1 offer while supplies last." The tour dates ran through cities including Pittsburgh, Washington, Brooklyn, Boston, Seattle, West Valley City, Denver, and Columbus.

So while the online comments zeroed in on Rossdale's face, the bigger picture is that he has been actively performing and promoting music. Still, as the reactions show, one close-up can sometimes become the headline all by itself.

Below, scroll through a gallery-style look at Rossdale through the years, from his nostalgic moments to the recent buzzworthy 2026 appearances.
