In March 2008, TMZ reported that Presley had received injections from Daniel Serrano around 2003. Serrano reportedly presented the treatments as injections that produced better results than Botox.

However, the outlet reported that he was injecting industrial, low-grade silicone similar to material used to lubricate automotive parts in Argentina. Presley was reportedly unaware that silicone was being placed into her face.

Serrano had gained access to members of Hollywood's social circles and administered injections to several women. Some treatments reportedly took place during injection parties held in private homes.

The injections were not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Serrano was not licensed to practice medicine in the United States. According to the report, people who received them experienced complications including lumps, paralysis, and holes in their faces.

Serrano reportedly charged between $300 and $500 per injection. He was later indicted on charges connected to smuggling, conspiracy, and the use of unapproved drugs.

Presley was said to have undergone corrective work after learning what had been injected into her face. Her representative subsequently confirmed that she had been among Serrano's documented victims.

In a statement published by Fox News, Presley's representative said, "Priscilla Presley was one of many documented victims of Dr. [Daniel] Serrano. An investigation which uncovered his misconduct ultimately lead to his imprisonment. Ms. Presley dealt with this matter years ago and everything is well [sic]."

Federal agents arrested Serrano in November 2004. Although he had been described as a doctor in some social circles, he was reportedly licensed only as a nurse in the United States.

He was accused of importing and distributing a substance combining synthetic collagen with tiny solid beads. The substance was legal in certain other countries but had not been approved by the FDA.

One woman who had used Serrano's services described him as charming and said he benefited from glowing endorsements from women he had previously treated. She also claimed that he was "very good at taking advantage of women."

Serrano pleaded guilty in federal court in Los Angeles in 2006 to conspiracy, smuggling, and using unapproved drugs. He received an 18-month federal prison sentence.
