Nicole Kidman's latest vacation photos have fans doing a double take, and it has nothing to do with the scenery.

The 59-year-old actress just wrapped up a family trip to one of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth, and she brought her camera roll along for the ride.

Nicole shared a carousel of vacation photos on Instagram on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, documenting a trip to Iceland with the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

The post opened with a solo shot of Nicole leaning against the ship's railing on an overcast day, bundled in a cozy sweater and jeans, smiling as she gazed out at the water.

Other slides showed her taking in Iceland's rugged scenery and unwinding in a hot tub aboard the vessel.

Sisters and Daughters Along for the Ride

The trip was a family affair. Nicole's sister, Australian journalist and television presenter Antonia Kidman, joined the getaway, along with two of the actress's daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. It is not the first time the extended Nicole clan has vacationed together.

Last summer, on August 19, 2025, Nicole shared a separate set of photos from a getaway that included a dive off a yacht into turquoise waters, Sunday's 17th birthday celebration with a white cake trimmed in pink and red macarons, and a group outing to see Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish perform live.

Antonia brought all six of her children on that trip, and the sisters posed together in matching cream dresses. That caption read simply, "Summer memories ❤️ Now back to school.✨"

This year's Iceland trip followed a similar rhythm of family bonding, minus the concert stop, but with one very noticeable difference in how Kidman showed up on camera.

In an interview breaking down her most iconic looks, Kidman revisited her "Days of Thunder" era, filmed in Daytona during spring break in the late 1980s. She admitted the sleek, straightened hair audiences saw in that film was not actually her natural texture at all, and she now regrets the choice.

"Why did I straighten my hair? I love my hair there. That is my natural hair. Isn't that crazy?" she said. "So little girls out there, embrace the curl. Do not follow in my steps and straighten your hair."

She explained that her curls come back "in abundance" with the right blow-dry, scrunch technique, and product, especially in humid conditions. Iceland's damp, coastal climate apparently did the job for her.

Kidman also noted the resemblance between her curls and her daughters' hair, saying, "I look like my daughters. Well, that makes sense."
