Princess Catherine stepped onto a rare movie-premiere red carpet in a sweeping purple gown, with one unexpected detail soon inspiring a familiar movie comparison.

Prince William joined Catherine and Tom Cruise at the "Digger" premiere in London, where her dramatic look and a courteous moment on the steps fueled conversation online.

Catherine brought royal glamour to London's Leicester Square Gardens on September 22, 2026, for the world premiere of the film.

Its appearance reminded some netizens of the fictional diamond necklace made famous by "Titanic."
