Ken Urker's Sister, Autumn, Calls Out Gypsy Rose Blanchard After His Death Over One Painful Family Matter

Ken Urker's death has brought renewed attention to his complicated relationship with Gypsy Rose Blanchard, but his family says there is much more to the story than what has unfolded publicly. Now, his sister Autumn is revealing why she is especially angry with Blanchard — and it comes down to something surprisingly personal.

Urker was found dead at his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday, according to reports, leaving behind his young daughter, Aurora Raina, and a family now trying to make sense of his final days.

His relationship with Blanchard had already been through several dramatic turns by the time of his death, making the circumstances surrounding their final months together particularly complicated.

Urker and Blanchard first began corresponding in 2017, after Urker watched an HBO documentary about Blanchard’s crime and sent her a letter while she was serving a seven-year prison sentence for her role in the murder of her mother, Claudine "Dee Dee" Blanchard.

The relationship quickly became serious, with Urker proposing in 2018 while Blanchard was still incarcerated. They eventually split, but their story was far from over. Blanchard was released from prison in December 2023 after being granted early parole, and she and Urker reunited the following year.

Their reconciliation led to the birth of their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024, adding another deeply personal connection between the pair.

But their relationship remained under intense scrutiny online, with their private struggles repeatedly becoming public discussion. And by the time Urker died, their relationship had once again become complicated, with conflicting accounts now emerging about where the couple actually stood.

A New Report Sheds Light on What Was Happening Behind the Scenes

One of those accounts came from TMZ after Urker's death, offering a look at what sources familiar with the situation said had been happening between the couple in the weeks before his death.

According to the report, Urker had asked Blanchard for some space, and she had been staying with her parents for several weeks while their belongings were being moved out of their old apartment and into a new one.

Those sources insisted that the pair had not broken up and were not on a break, describing the arrangement instead as time apart. In fact, the report said they were still together and planned to move into a new apartment, suggesting that the distance between them was not necessarily the end of their relationship.

But there was another issue behind that distance — and it reportedly had a lot to do with Urker himself.

His Drinking Had Become a Strain on the Relationship

According to TMZ's report, Urker had been privately struggling with alcohol for several months. Sources said he knew he had a problem and had attended at least one Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, while his drinking had created strain between him and Blanchard.

The report also said that, shortly before his death, Blanchard and her parents were moving belongings from the couple's old apartment when they discovered an empty Crown Royal box.

Taken together, the details suggested that Urker was privately dealing with a serious problem while the couple was still, according to those sources, trying to work through their relationship. But that was not how Autumn described the situation.

His Sister Says the Relationship Was Already Over

In her interview with the Daily Mail, Urker's sister disputed the picture of an intact relationship and accused Blanchard of presenting what she described as a "fake narrative." Autumn alleged that the couple had already separated, suggesting that the reality of Urker's final months was considerably more troubled than the public image surrounding their relationship.

And in her account, the problems went beyond the couple themselves. Autumn said the constant attention surrounding Blanchard and Urker's relationship had taken a toll on her brother. She alleged that Blanchard was "to blame for his death because all of this started because of her."

"She had to be in the limelight. She had to be that girl. She didn't care what it cost other people around her," Autumn declared. She continued, "She loved all the attention at the expense of everybody around her." Autumn also argued that the online attention surrounding Blanchard did not simply affect Blanchard herself.

She claimed that although Blanchard received plenty of criticism, she also received significant support from followers encouraging her to ignore the people attacking her. "As much hate that she received, she would receive about two times more of support and happy comments telling her to keep doing her, to ignore the haters," Autumn alleged.

But according to Autumn, ignoring the criticism came with consequences for those around Blanchard, "Except ignoring the haters got everybody around her to receive death threats, and to be uncomfortable." And Autumn's concerns about what her brother was experiencing became even more personal when she recalled what she said he told her shortly before his death.

In Their Final Phone Call, Urker Was Worried About His Daughter

Autumn’s account became even more emotional when she described what she said was her final phone call with her brother. According to Autumn, Urker told her he was "terrified" that Blanchard would not keep their daughter Aurora safe.

She also alleged that he told her Blanchard had "humiliated him." In Autumn’s telling, Urker had begun thinking about bringing his daughter "back home" to his mother because he felt he had "failed Aurora because of Gypsy."

She further alleged that conflicts between the couple could become intense, saying, "It was her way, or she was screaming at him because he was trying to control her like her mother. Gypsy is not this sweet person."

Those claims help explain why Autumn's anger did not stop at the relationship itself. For her, what happened after Urker's death became just as painful as what she says happened before it.

Then Came the One Thing Urker's Sister Says Blanchard Never Did

Autumn told the Daily Mail that she and Urker's mother had not heard from Blanchard before she began making public statements about his death. And that, more than anything, appears to have become the family's most personal grievance. "We are disgusted with her statements! She hasn't even called my mother or any of us yet," Autumn declared.

The accusation was striking because it was not simply about disagreements over Urker's relationship with Blanchard or conflicting accounts of his final months.

Autumn was saying the family was grieving the loss of their son and brother while waiting for a call from someone who had been deeply connected to him. Her anger also came as Blanchard was publicly discussing Urker's death and the circumstances surrounding his final days.

Blanchard Speaks Out After His Death

Blanchard has since spoken publicly about the loss, telling PEOPLE that Urker overdosed, although she does not know whether the overdose was intentional. "I don't know if it was intentional or not," Blanchard tells PEOPLE exclusively. "He was not in a good state of mind lately."

She said Urker died in his bed at his Raceland home. "I'm in disbelief. I can't think," she says. "I've screamed until my throat burns." The Lafourche Sheriff's Office has not announced a final cause of death, and its investigation remains ongoing.

In her statement to PEOPLE, Blanchard also addressed the intense public attention that surrounded Urker during their relationship. She said he experienced what she described as relentless harassment on social media, specifically mentioning TikTok and Reddit.

"Ken endured an unimaginable level of public scrutiny and relentless cyberbullying across social media platforms, including TikTok and Reddit. The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure," she tells PEOPLE.

"I believe the tremendous weight of that scrutiny and harassment had a profound impact on him, and I hope his passing serves as a reminder that there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment."

Blanchard further described Urker as a devoted father to their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, and spoke about the depth of their connection despite the complicated history of their relationship.

While Blanchard spoke publicly about what she believed Urker had endured, Autumn was questioning why those public statements came before what she considered the more important private gesture.

The family, she made clear, wanted a call.

Autumn Wants Her Brother Remembered for Who He Was

Despite the anger running through her comments about Blanchard, Autumn ultimately brought the conversation back to Urker himself. She described him as someone who continued to care for people even when they were struggling. "My brother was a good father. A good brother. A good son and a good friend. And we were all lucky and blessed to have known him."

She also defended the effort she said Urker had made to support Blanchard despite everything that had happened between them. "He didn’t care if you were broken; he would still love you. He would still fight for you. He tried so hard for Gypsy because he was that person."

The Daily Mail reported that representatives for Blanchard had been contacted for comment but had not responded at the time of publication.

For now, the accounts surrounding Urker's final months remain sharply divided — from reports that he was privately struggling with alcohol while still planning a future with Blanchard, to Autumn's insistence that the relationship had already ended and that her brother was deeply troubled by what had happened.

But after all the conflicting accounts, allegations, and public statements, Autumn's most painful complaint comes down to something much simpler: she says the family was grieving while waiting for a call that never came.

As we previously reported, questions surrounding Urker's final days extend far beyond the conflicting accounts of his relationship with Blanchard, with details about what happened before deputies arrived at his home — and what they found inside — now adding another layer to the mystery surrounding his death.

A Quiet TikTok Live Came Before the Death

According to TMZ, Urker went live on TikTok on Wednesday night while apparently traveling. The livestream was unusual because he did not appear to say anything. Wind could be heard in the background as he appeared to be driving or traveling.

By Thursday evening, Urker had been declared dead. The timing of the livestream has since drawn attention because it came only hours before authorities were called to his home.

His Family Became Concerned Before the Welfare Check

According to the police information obtained by Page Six, a family member told authorities that she had spent time with Urker at church on September 30. The report said Urker had made comments about being depressed and upset.

The family member also told authorities that Urker went live on TikTok at approximately 11 p.m. that night, apparently leaving the video running while he drove without speaking.

The 911 call log obtained by Page Six provided another troubling detail. The caller told dispatchers that Urker was "in a dark place," had made threats to commit suicide, and owned a gun. She also said he had been drinking the night before his death.

Before deputies arrived, a family friend reportedly tried to get into Urker's home for more than an hour.

What Deputies Saw Inside the Home

When deputies eventually entered the residence, the scene gave investigators their first indication that something serious had happened. According to the police report obtained by the outlet, deputies entered through the front door and could see Urker from the living room area.

He was in bed. The report stated that Urker "was found lying on the bed on his back, cold to the touch, and appeared to have been there for an extended period of time." The discovery prompted deputies to examine the surrounding area more closely.

According to the report, deputies found drug paraphernalia and a brown powdery substance in the bathroom next to the bedroom. The report specifically mentioned that syringes, a spoon, and a handgun were found on the nightstand beside Urker’s bed.

The police report further stated that the handgun was holstered and was lying next to two shot glasses and a syringe. The report also described physical signs that deputies observed when they found Urker.

Still Official Cause of Death Has Not Been Determined

The presence of a handgun at the scene immediately raised questions, particularly because a caller had already warned dispatchers that Urker owned a gun and had made suicide threats.

But the available reporting does not establish that the gun was fired or that it caused Urker’s death. TMZ reported that the police report does not say the gun was fired or that it was used in Urker's death.

That distinction is important because the official cause of death has not yet been determined.

The Report Initially Classified the Incident as an Overdose

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the death, the police incident report classified the incident as an overdose. That classification is not the same as an official medical determination. The Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office told Page Six that an autopsy had been conducted, but there was still no definitive cause of death.

"As you all know, an autopsy was conducted this morning on Mr. Urker. At this time, there is no definitive cause of death. The case remains pending completion of toxicology testing."

Those toxicology results could ultimately provide the clearest answer about what happened to Urker.

His Final Conversation With Blanchard Has Also Resurfaced

Amid the investigation, Urker's sister, Autumn, shared a phone call between him and Blanchard. The conversation, which was played publicly by his sister, showed the former couple discussing their feelings for each other and imagining difficult circumstances that could potentially come between them.

The call has taken on a different weight following Urker's death, particularly because it reflected the complicated emotional history between the two.

Urker and Blanchard had remained connected after their earlier breakup and eventually became parents together. Now, questions surrounding his final hours remain unanswered. For now, investigators have not publicly established exactly how Urker died.

What is known is that he was found alone in his Raceland home on his 34th birthday after family members became concerned about his whereabouts. And that leaves the most important question still hanging: what happened to Ken Urker during those final hours?

As we previously reported, as details of Ken Urker's final hours emerged, one small detail from the day became particularly poignant.

Then There Was the Message on His Birthday

According to TMZ, Blanchard had reached out to Urker on his birthday with a two-word message.

She sent him "Happy Birthday" but did not receive a response. The message came hours before Urker was found dead, turning what would ordinarily have been a simple birthday greeting into a haunting detail in the timeline of his final day.

The sequence is especially striking because Urker's death was not immediately known to Blanchard when she sent the message. She was simply trying to reach him on his birthday, according to the report.

The circumstances surrounding the message also became a point of tension after Urker's sister, Autumn, reportedly appeared on her TikTok Live following her brother’s death.

His Sister Revealed More About His Final Hours

In one of the livestreams, Autumn said Urker had spent time with Blanchard's brother Dylan, Dylan's wife, and another woman at church the night before his death. She said Urker had been emotional during the gathering and that the group had plans involving dinner the following day.

She also reportedly reflected on their last conversation, telling her followers that Urker's last words to her were, "I love you." According to Autumn's account, Dylan and his wife were the people who later went to Urker's home because they had plans to have dinner with him.

That account is consistent with TheWrap's report that Dylan and his wife found Urker unresponsive while they were planning to go out to dinner together.

Autumn's account adds an important detail to the timeline: Urker was apparently still spending time with members of Blanchard's family shortly before his death, even as questions later surfaced about the status of his relationship with Blanchard.

The precise timing of the church gathering, the planned dinner, and the discovery of Urker has not been fully established publicly, however, and Autumn's statements should be understood as her account of those events.

His Sister Also Addressed Gypsy Rose

In another emotional TikTok Live, Autumn reacted to the news of her brother's death and expressed uncertainty about what she would say to Blanchard. "Oh, my God. Ken was found deceased," she said, according to the livestream. "I don't know what I'd say to Gypsy right now," Autumn continued. "I don't want to be hateful. I don't want to be this way, but I'm angry."

Her comments came as she was visibly grieving her brother and responding to people asking questions about what had happened. The emotional livestreams followed earlier comments in which Autumn reportedly said that she and Urker's relationship with Blanchard had ended, while also criticizing the way news of his death became public.

Parade reported that Autumn said, "They've been split up," before accusing Blanchard of leaking the news. She also referenced the birthday message, saying, "Of course you went to TMZ that you texted him 'happy birthday' and didn't get a response. You ain't been getting a response."

Autumn's comments present a different account of the status of Blanchard and Urker's relationship at the time of his death. Those statements have not been independently confirmed, and they should be distinguished from the official information released by law enforcement.

At the time of publication, authorities had not publicly announced a final cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing, leaving many questions about Urker's final hours unanswered.

For now, the known timeline begins with a birthday message that went unanswered, continues through a planned dinner with members of Blanchard's family, and ends with Urker being found unresponsive at his Louisiana home.

His death has left behind not only two grieving families but also his young daughter, Aurora, whose mother says she will grow up knowing how deeply her father loved her.
