Savannah Chrisley Reveals She's Expecting Her First Baby with Fiancé Jason Galanis — and His Background Has Raised More Than a Few Eyebrows
Savannah Chrisley spent years weathering devastating public battles before finally revealing her new romance. Behind the joyful milestone, however, sits an unbelievable trail of controversy that has left fans completely astonished.
The 29-year-old "Chrisley Knows Best" alum spent months keeping her relationship private, referring to her partner simply as her "mystery man." Now, the details emerging about Jason Galanis, 56, have put an unexpected spotlight on their romance.
Their story includes a 27-year age gap, a December 2025 proposal, a surprise pregnancy, and Galanis' years in federal prison. It also contains a remarkable connection between his legal history and the events that reshaped Savannah's own family.

Savannah Is Engaged and Expecting Her First Child
Savannah announced her engagement and pregnancy on October 27, revealing the two major developments during an episode of her "Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley" podcast. Until then, she had carefully guarded her boyfriend's identity.
Savannah first confirmed that she was dating someone in May 2026. She told listeners at the time that they might not learn who he was until after she was married.
That changed when she revealed that "Jason" was the man she had been talking about and announced they were expecting their first child.

She also shared the pregnancy news on Instagram, posting footage that showed her holding ultrasound photos with her fiancé beside her. "I've prayed for this life. I've cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine," she wrote.
Savannah said the previous few years had included heartbreak, loss, and uncertainty about her future. She then told followers that "God sent me J." She described her fiancé as her protector, "fiercest fighter," "most loyal person," lover, and safe place.
"And just when I thought my heart couldn't hold any more love, God gave us our sweetest blessing yet... we're having a BABY!" she wrote. Savannah said Galanis had attended every doctor's appointment and was already talking about their child and caring for her throughout the pregnancy.

She added, "I thank God every day that this baby gets to call you Daddy." The announcement drew an immediate wave of congratulations from followers.
"I bet Todd is over the moon about the baby! Congrats! So happy for you to find happiness and be pregnant!! ❤" one person wrote. "Congratulations Savannah! I know you're so ready for this chapter of your life! 💕" another commented.
Another follower wrote, "I knew it! Her face was getting a little filled out. Aww, I'm So happy for you Savannah! I can't wait until Todd, Julie and the rest talk about it. I bet they're overjoyed! What amazing news!"

Someone else added, "Congratulations, I can't wait to see how auntie Chloe does with the new baby! ❤️" But as Galanis' full identity became public, some of the responses took a sharply different turn.
"Oh no so many red flags with that guy 😮," one commenter wrote. Another said, "I just looked up Jason Galanis. He's a criminal and 56 years old. He got into criminal activity with Hunter Biden. Oh my Savannah what have you done?"
The comments reflected the sudden attention surrounding a fiancé Savannah had deliberately kept out of public view.

The Pregnancy Came After Savannah's Health Struggles
The pregnancy carried additional significance because Savannah had previously spoken publicly about endometriosis and her plans for having children. According to People, Savannah had decided to freeze her eggs after being diagnosed with endometriosis.
She revealed in April 2026 that she had taken that step. However, she later disclosed that she and Galanis had gone further and created embryos together. The process resulted in two healthy embryos, both girls.
Before Savannah underwent an embryo transfer, however, something unexpected happened: She became pregnant naturally. Savannah called it the "surprise of a lifetime." The couple learned about the pregnancy while on a cruise to Istanbul, Turkey, and Greece in May 2026.

The news also changed their wedding plans. Savannah and Galanis had originally planned to marry in January 2027. After learning about the pregnancy, they moved the wedding to May 2027.
Galanis Is 27 Years Older Than Savannah
Their age difference quickly became another talking point. Savannah is 29, while Galanis is 56, making him 27 years her senior. It is an issue Savannah has already addressed directly.
One supporter summed up the reaction from fans who were unconcerned by the gap, writing, "Savanna!!! Age is just a number!!! What matters is love, peace, happiness, and respect!!!!"

Savannah herself said she would choose a shorter period in a fulfilling relationship over spending considerably longer in one she considered mediocre.
She also praised Galanis' appearance, physical condition, and mind before making her feelings about him unmistakable. "This person is the love of my life," she said. The relationship moved quickly once the two began dating.
They started dating in July 2025 and were engaged about five months later, in December. Galanis proposed during a trip to the Cayman Islands, which Savannah described as their "happy place."
He worked with Genovese Jewelers to design her engagement ring and proposed on a beach during a day trip to Little Cayman. Savannah later called the experience "magical" and said the ring was everything she had wanted.
One follower was already looking ahead to the ceremony, commenting, "I can't wait to see the wedding Todd has been planning. It's going to be grand." Yet Galanis' age is far from the most striking detail in his background.

Galanis Was Sentenced to Nearly 16 Years in Federal Prison
Before becoming Savannah's fiancé, Galanis had spent years caught up in a major federal fraud case. In 2020, he was sentenced to 189 months in federal prison, or 15 years and nine months, after pleading guilty for his role in two securities fraud schemes.
According to The New York Times, Galanis was also ordered to pay nearly $162 million in forfeiture and restitution. One scheme involved defrauding investors and a Native American tribal entity of tens of millions of dollars.
The federal judge handling the case described Galanis as "the admitted mastermind of the conspiracy and a serial fraudster." His case would eventually extend well beyond the courtroom. It became connected to one of the biggest political names in the country.

His Business Past Included Hunter Biden
Galanis had previously been a business associate of Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden. One of the fraud schemes involved a company where Hunter Biden was listed as vice chairman, according to documents introduced at trial.
Hunter Biden was not charged in the case, and his lawyers said he was not involved. While incarcerated, Galanis became a witness in the Republican-led congressional investigation into the Biden family's foreign business dealings.
In 2024, he testified from a federal prison in Alabama before two Republican-controlled House committees. Galanis alleged that Hunter Biden's value to their business came from his family name and access to his father.
The congressional investigation ultimately did not lead to Joe Biden's impeachment. But Galanis' cooperation would later become part of another major development in his life.

President Trump Commuted Galanis' Sentence
In March 2025, President Donald Trump commuted the remainder of Galanis' federal sentence. The commutation also eliminated Galanis' unpaid financial obligations, according to The New York Times.
It came only days after Trump announced a full and unconditional pardon for Devon Archer, another former business associate of Hunter Biden and Galanis who had also been convicted in connection with the Native American fraud scheme.
Galanis' clemency placed him at the intersection of a political story that would soon overlap with Savannah's family in another way. Her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were also serving federal prison sentences at the time.

Savannah Had Become a Guardian While Her Parents Were in Prison
Todd and Julie were convicted in 2022 on federal bank fraud and tax charges. With both parents incarcerated, Savannah's responsibilities at home changed dramatically.
At 26, she had custody of her younger brother Grayson, then 17, and her niece Chloe, then 10, whom Todd and Julie had adopted. Savannah described the difficulty of suddenly becoming responsible for two young people in an interview reported by E! News.
She said she was trying to be a good adult figure for them while navigating responsibilities she had never expected to take on at that age. Savannah also said her own life felt as though it had been put on hold.

One follower referenced those years after Savannah announced her pregnancy, writing, "After taking care of everyone else's needs the past 5 yrs It's Savanah Time 🥰 Congrats 🎉 Your deserve the best 👵🌹🇨🇦"
Savannah's personal life had also included an earlier engagement. She was previously engaged to former NHL player Nic Kerdiles before the couple called off their wedding plans and split in 2020.
Kerdiles died following a motorcycle crash in Nashville in September 2023. He was 29. Years later, while Savannah was focused heavily on her parents' legal situation, politics became an increasingly visible part of her public life.
Savannah Took Her Parents' Case Into National Politics
Savannah publicly campaigned for her parents and became involved in conservative political events. In July 2024, she spoke at the Republican National Convention and criticized the prosecution of her parents.
She claimed Todd and Julie had been "persecuted" because of their public profile and conservative beliefs. Savannah also campaigned for Trump as part of "Team Trump's Women Tour" and publicly continued advocating for her parents.
Then, in May 2025, Trump told Savannah that Todd and Julie would receive full pardons. The Chrisleys had been sentenced after their convictions in a case involving a conspiracy to defraud banks out of more than $30 million, along with tax crimes.
They maintained their innocence and were appealing their convictions. Trump signed full pardons for Todd and Julie, ending their prison sentences.
That meant Savannah's fiancé and both of her parents had received presidential clemency from the same president within a matter of months. But there was an even more unusual link between Galanis and Savannah's father.

Galanis and Todd Served Time at the Same Prison
Before Galanis and Savannah publicly became a couple, Galanis and Todd had both been incarcerated at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida. Their time there even overlapped.
Page Six reported that Galanis and Todd were both at the facility from January through August 2023. There is no information in the provided sources establishing that the two men knew each other there.
The overlap nevertheless adds another documented connection to an already unusual timeline: Savannah's future fiancé and her father were serving time at the same federal prison more than two years before her engagement to Galanis became public.
The similarities do not stop there. Both men had been imprisoned following financial fraud convictions, and both ultimately benefited from presidential clemency from Trump.
Galanis received a commutation in March 2025. Todd and Julie received full pardons two months later. Yet the sequence of events that actually brought Savannah and Galanis together began outside the prison system.
Their First Messages Came After Her Parents Were Freed
Savannah finally explained how the relationship began during the October 27 episode of "Unlocked." She said she and Galanis originally crossed paths "in the world of politics."
At that point, Savannah said dating was not her focus because she was concentrating on getting her parents released from prison. Then Trump pardoned Todd and Julie.
Four days after their May 28, 2025, release, Galanis sent Savannah a message. "The first text that Jason sent me was, 'Hey, Savannah, it's just incredible what you did for your family. You never stopped. Fearless person. Congratulations,'" Savannah recalled.
She did not answer immediately. In fact, Savannah said it took her nine days to respond. The two continued texting after she finally replied, and the relationship eventually became romantic. They began dating in July 2025.
Five months later, Galanis proposed. Now, Savannah and the man she once kept hidden behind the nickname "mystery man" are preparing for a wedding in May 2027 while awaiting the arrival of their first child.

Their relationship began only after years in prison, presidential clemency, and politics had separately shaped both of their lives — and it was Galanis' message congratulating Savannah Chrisley on getting her family back together that ultimately opened the conversation between them.
