The audience erupted in applause, repeating after Beyoncé, “Congratulations Mama T,” as the proud daughter beamed beside her family on stage. However, the excitement clearly proved overwhelming for young Rumi, who clapped enthusiastically and reached out to hug her mom mid-announcement.

In a candid moment captured on TikTok, Tina could be seen gently pulling Rumi back while trying to keep the focus on the speech. Forensic lipreader Nicola Hickling revealed that Tina told her granddaughter, "Wait, we're talking," followed by a soft but firm, "calm down." Beyoncé responded with a reassuring smile, "She's okay," before continuing.
Blue Ivy quickly stepped in to help, taking Rumi's hand and coaxing her to stand still. "Come, come, to me," she said, also gesturing with a "shh" to calm her younger sister. Still, Rumi was undeterred—waving excitedly to fans and bouncing around as they walked away from the limelight.
The unscripted moment of family chaos and love amazed fans, who were quick to react to Rumi's behavior and the sweet interaction between the Knowles-Carter women. One viewer couldn't help but point out, "Tina was annoyed lol." An individual didn't hold back, noting, "Tina seem mean towards Rumi."

Another fan took it a step further, saying, "That dirty look Rumi got from Tina was a little too obvious. Then she brushed right pas her a second time. That was sad to watch."
More fans voiced their opinions, "I'm so disappointed with Tina's lack of patience and empathy towards Rumi s/o [sic] Blue Ivy for having a patience, understanding, and a soft towards her younger sister."
Meanwhile, Blue Ivy earned more praises, "Blue is so mature." Another fan highlighted, "Blue being a big sister trying to quieten the over excited baby sis😂❤️." Someone else joked, “Blue is so strict 😭😭😭.” And one person summed it up playfully, “Every oldest sister be acting like the family manager😂.”
Beyoncé has been visibly proud and overjoyed about her mother's success with her memoir, "Matriarch." She recently shared a series of celebratory photos on Instagram, including heartwarming moments of the family cutting a cake in honor of the book’s achievement.

"Tina, thank you for your honesty, your humor, and your heart. Matriarch is more than a memoir — it's a love letter to Black women, to our stories, to our families, and to the unshakeable strength that holds us all together," she continued.
Michelle also expressed gratitude to singer-songwriter Ledisi for her performance at the event. She then announced that her conversation with Tina would soon be available for streaming on her podcast, "In My Opinion," which she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson.
Tina also shared her own posts about her first book tour stop, featuring photos of the night's most memorable moments. The author enjoyed speaking with her "forever First Lady," as she wrote, "To be in conversation with her, in front of a room full of love, laughter, and powerful Black women? A dream."
In another post, about two hours later, Tina said she was "still walking on cloud nine" after the event. "We laughed we got emotional we joked we danced (She taught me a little of the dance) but most of all we were honest and straightforward [sic]," she recalled.
Tina added that her next stop would be at Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, with Keke Palmer acting as moderator this time around. Jennifer Hudson will also be present to deliver an electrifying performance.

Michelle added that she's "not a martyr," and would likely be resolving the issue publicly. "Like, well let me tell you what he did," she said. Her brother, who was also present during the interview, joked, "If they were having a problem, I'd be doing a podcast with him."
