'General Hospital' Star Steve Burton, 54, Marries Chef Michelle Lundstrom in Laguna Beach

The "General Hospital" star is bursting with love for his new wife as the two set off on their honeymoon, ready to begin their next chapter together as husband and wife.

Steve Burton tied the knot with chef and content creator Michelle Lundstrom, 44, on Saturday, May 17, in a private Orthodox church ceremony. The wedding comes two years after the actor publicly announced his separation from his ex-wife.

Burton and Lundstrom's church ceremony was attended by only immediate family. It was followed by their private ceremony with an ultra-exclusive oceanfront reception at Montage Laguna Beach, California. Just 45 guests were invited to the gathering, including a few of Burton's longtime friends from "General Hospital."

The "Barbecue Showdown 2" star wore a custom strapless couture gown by Lee Petra Grebenau. Her daughters from a previous relationship, Lilah, 14, and Hannah, 10, joined her on her dress search. "It was exactly what I had wanted, romantic with a vintage vibe," she said. Her hair and makeup were done by her longtime friends Anzhela and Luiza Adzhiyan, both of whom work on "General Hospital."

The nuptials took place just four months after the couple got engaged and marked a dream come true for Burton. "This day isn't just about a ceremony. It's the beginning of forever with the love of my life," Burton said.

For their first dance, they chose a modern yet heartfelt song—"I Choose You" by Forest Blakk. The couple and their guests later sat down for a dreamy candlelit dinner. The culinary team at Montage impressed with their masterfully prepared dishes, with the savory beef tenderloin being a standout for Burton.

When it came to dessert, Burton initially wanted something simple that reminded him of a classic grocery store sheet cake. He eventually agreed on a more refined version: a vanilla sponge cake layered with vanilla cream and fresh berries.

The celebration continued the next day with a relaxed Sunday brunch, giving loved ones one more chance to come together before parting ways.

Both sides of the family were involved in the festivities. Lundstrom's daughters, Lilah and Hannah, joined Burton's children with his ex-wife, Sheree Burton—Makena, 21, Jack, 19, and Brooklyn, 10—as part of the wedding party.

The girls wore matching dresses, an element that brought them particular excitement. Burton was especially touched to have his son Jack stand beside him as a groomsman. Lundstrom's sister, Janine, served as maid of honor, while Burton's longtime best friend, Jeremy Ross, took on the role of best man. "General Hospital" stars Jonathan Jackson and his wife, Lisa Vultaggio, were also part of the wedding party.

Burton's new chapter in marriage follows the end of his long-term relationship with his former wife, Sheree. In May 2022, he publicly announced their separation after 23 years of marriage.

The actor wrote in his Instagram story, "I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve."

Shortly after, Burton filed for divorce, stating irreconcilable differences and marking March 1, 2023, as their official date of separation. The two had married in January 1999 and finalized their divorce in December 2023.

Five months after finalizing his divorce, in May 2024, Burton entered a relationship with Lundstrom. By the following month, he had already made their romance public, bringing her as his date to the Daytime Emmy Awards.

Though they initially lived in different states, the two had maintained a strong friendship, which eventually evolved into something more. Over time, it became clear that their bond went beyond friendship, and they soon realized they were right for each other.

On January 3, 2025, Burton proposed in Nashville, Tennessee, choosing a scenic farm complete with a romantic stage and chapel to set the scene. "I told Michelle we were going to look at a piece of property to possibly buy. The plan unfolded perfectly and she said yes!" Burton recalled.

The heartfelt proposal featured meaningful personal touches, including a backdrop of the location where they first met in person. The space was filled with candles, rose petals, and cherished photos of the couple, creating an emotional moment they would never forget.

"We slow danced to our favorite songs as I cried happy tears. He's very romantic. Afterward, we joined our kids and closest friends for an intimate dinner to celebrate," Lundstrom narrated.

Eager to begin their life together, the couple didn't want to delay becoming husband and wife. Now officially married, they are enjoying their honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.
