A seemingly simple birthday message shared by the Duchess of Sussex has drawn renewed public scrutiny, not for what was said, but for when it was posted.

The 43-year-old mom of two posted a video showing herself opening a wooden crate of wine, which revealed bottles of her newly released As Ever Napa Valley Rosé.

The brief video included a message expressing birthday wishes to women both nearby and far away, accompanied by a white heart emoji. It played over the song "Please Mr. Postman" by The Marvelettes.

The wine showcased in the video is described as a delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish. It is pale in color and inspired by Provençal styles. Crafted for relaxed afternoons and golden-hour gatherings, the wine is positioned as an elegant addition to outdoor moments.

While Meghan did not mention any names, the timing and wording of the post drew attention online.

On Instagram, one person wrote, "Wait she's wishing Queen Camilla happy birthday [sic]???" Another replied, "looks like it. They are so desperate to be back with the RF [sic]!"

A third asked, "Who are her ladies?" One person added, "And if she didn't say happy birthday, ya'll would be yelling she was rude."

Comments also flooded Facebook. One person penned, "being nice to a family member buttering up for something [sic]." Another stated, "She's got the nerve."

A different comment read, "Tacky. If it was genuine she would not be filming it. Just another grab for publicity." One netizen simply wrote, "Very interesting for sure."

Meanwhile, another person remarked, "We all wish the lovely Queen Camilla a very happy birthday....She is without doubt the darling of the nation."

The buzz around Meghan's Instagram Story on Queen Camilla's birthday has also brought renewed attention to the long-standing tension previously reported between the two royal women.

While Meghan's post did not mention Camilla by name, its timing led many to revisit past claims about their alleged frosty relationship.

According to a report published by The Sun in February 2022, royal biographer Tom Bower claimed that Camilla once referred to Meghan as "that minx" and regarded her as "ungrateful." Tim asserted that the now-Queen had been "suspicious" of Meghan's intentions from the beginning and doubted her commitment to royal duty.

The biographer stated that Camilla, then 74, chose to remain "tight-lipped" after Meghan joined the Royal Family, brought in by her stepson, Prince Harry. He further claimed that Meghan and Harry's silence following Queen Elizabeth II's announcement that Camilla would one day be known as Queen Consort was "deliberate" and viewed as an "insult."

"Perhaps the Sussexes' deafening silence is Meghan's way of declaring war," Tim said. "It is believed that she has never liked Camilla, and I am sure the feelings are reciprocated."

He continued, "From the outset, Camilla was suspicious about the adventures from Los Angeles. She found it hard to believe that Meghan would sacrifice her career and independence to serve silently as a team player devoted to the monarchy."

Though Camilla reportedly kept her opinions private, Tim alleged that in private settings, she may have referred to Meghan as a "self-seeking trouble-maker whose antics will always end in tears."

At the time, Queen Elizabeth II had expressed her "sincere wish" that Camilla, then Duchess of Cornwall, be known as Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascended the throne.

The announcement marked a shift from Camilla's previous title of Princess Consort, designated when she married Charles in 2005. Reports at the time noted that both Charles and Camilla were "touched and honoured" by the late Queen's decision.

These resurfaced accounts highlight a history of friction that some observers believe may add context to how Meghan's recent post is being interpreted online.

While the Meghan Markle's message this year made no direct reference to Camilla, the surrounding discourse highlights the continued public interest in royal dynamics, especially when past tensions and present timing appear to intersect.
