From Desperate Longing to a Flourishing Blended Household

Born on September 2, 1966, in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, Hayek is currently nearing her 60th birthday. Reflecting on the time before her family grew, the star opened up about her deep desire for children in a May 2017 interview with Red Magazine.

"I had a child late in life," Hayek explained, describing "that yearning, that longing and that pain" before having her daughter. She added, "I always wanted to have a lot of children, and I was not able to. My body, as a miracle, had one."

However, marrying French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, CEO of the Kering luxury fashion group, in 2009 brought three children into her life. "The huge blessing I've had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different," Hayek said.
