A recent mother-daughter appearance in an Instagram interview filmed in a car showed Valentina Pinault teasing Salma Hayek, setting firm boundaries around her private life, and prompting fresh debate over which parent she resembles at 18.

"I'm cooler than you," Valentina Pinault told her mother during a vintage-shopping trip in Barcelona. Salma did not object.

Valentina, 18, is Salma's daughter with French businessman François-Henri Pinault, chairman of the board of luxury group Kering. She joined the 59-year-old actress for the August 4, 2026, episode of Instagram's "Carversations," which followed them from a car ride to a vintage clothing store.
