This '80s Icon Became a First-Time Dad at 55 with a Wife over 20 Years His Junior – Now He's Been Spotted at a Movie Premiere with His 3-Year-Old Son – Photos
For decades, audiences knew him as one of Hollywood's most unforgettable teenage stars, but behind the scenes, his personal journey was far more complicated. From growing up without his biological father to confronting the darker side of fame, the actor's path to happiness took several unexpected turns.
He became one of Hollywood's most recognizable young stars, but the role that would change his life forever didn't arrive until decades later. Now, at 58, the former teen heartthrob has stepped out with his much-younger wife and their little boy, giving fans a sweet glimpse into a very different chapter of his life.
Long before becoming a devoted husband and father, the actor was navigating an extraordinary Hollywood career, personal struggles, and a childhood shaped by the absence of his biological father.
His journey from teenage stardom to first-time fatherhood at 55 wasn't exactly conventional. Yet, as he has since explained, he wouldn't have wanted things any other way.

A Hollywood Childhood Marked by an Absent Father
Before he became a familiar face on movie screens, the future star was growing up in a household led by his mother, who raised him alone for the first 12 years of his life. During a February 2025 interview with CGMagazine, the actor reflected on the people and experiences that shaped him.
"I credit my mother raising [sic] me. I was raised by a mom who was a single mom for 12 years, and then my mother remarried when I was 12, and I had a stepfather who was wonderful and adopted me," he shared. His mother and stepfather subsequently welcomed his younger sister, giving him a new family dynamic as he entered his teenage years.

The actor also credited his religious beliefs and upbringing in the city for influencing the man he became. However, one important relationship remained missing from his childhood. In a March 2025 conversation with Decider, he further revealed, "I was kind of curious about my own father. I didn't actually meet him until I was about 22 years old. And that's a whole other story," he admitted.
Those experiences later influenced his acting, particularly when portraying complicated relationships between fathers and sons. But while his home life was evolving, his professional life was already moving at remarkable speed. He started appearing in commercials at just seven years old, eventually landing a breakthrough role in one of the most memorable comedies of the early 1980s.
From there, he became associated with a string of teenage classics that helped define an entire generation of Hollywood entertainment. Yet behind the fame, the young actor was also discovering the less glamorous realities of life in the spotlight.

After starring in "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club," and "Weird Science," he became closely associated with Hollywood's famous Brat Pack era. However, the young actor was determined not to spend his entire career playing teenagers. | Source: Getty Images
Early Fame, Wild Years, and a Turning Point
Following his early success, the actor spent time living at the famous Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, where he embraced the excitement surrounding his growing career. Reflecting on that period during a June 2024 interview with The Guardian, he recalled, "It was exciting. It was fun." Asked whether partying was part of the experience, he acknowledged, "Yeah. I'm not gonna deny that."
Although he said he never got involved with drugs, his drinking eventually became a problem. "I had to get that in check because I was a little bit of a wild ass when I was a kid," he admitted. His personal life continued to attract scrutiny in later decades.
The Guardian reported that he was convicted of assaulting a neighbor following a dispute in 2017. In 2020, he also apologized after footage emerged of him berating other guests at a hotel pool.

Behind his early Hollywood success, the actor struggled with excessive partying and drinking. He later acknowledged that his behavior had gotten out of hand, but has reportedly remained sober since 1990. | Source: Getty Images
When the publication raised those incidents, he declined to revisit them, saying, "I'd rather not address any of that." Nevertheless, his career has spanned decades, with appearances in major movies, acclaimed television productions, and projects far removed from the teenage characters that initially made him famous.
And those early roles provide the biggest clue to his identity. He played Rusty Griswold in "National Lampoon's Vacation" in 1983 before appearing in three John Hughes favorites: "Sixteen Candles" in 1984, followed by "The Breakfast Club" and "Weird Science" in 1985. That actor is none other than Anthony Michael Hall.
According to his IMDb biography, Anthony was born in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, to Mercedes Hall, an actress and blues and jazz singer, and Larry Hall, who owned an auto body shop. His stepfather worked as a show-business manager, while his younger sister, Mary Christian, also pursued performing.
Born Michael Anthony Thomas Charles Hall, he adopted his professional name after discovering that another Michael Hall was already registered with the Screen Actors Guild. Following his unforgettable run of teenage movies, Anthony deliberately pursued different roles rather than remain typecast.

He turned down opportunities to appear in "Pretty in Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," both released in 1986. His career also included a one-season stint on "Saturday Night Live," followed by appearances in "Edward Scissorhands," "Pirates of Silicon Valley," "The Dead Zone," and "The Dark Knight."
Anthony, who has reportedly remained sober since 1990, also pursued music with his band Hall of Mirrors and established a literacy club to help at-risk young people. Yet even after building such an extensive Hollywood résumé, his personal life was still waiting for what he would eventually call his greatest role.

Finding Love with a Woman 23 Years Younger
Anthony's romantic life took a meaningful turn when he began dating Slovakian-born Model and Actress Lucia Oskerova/Lucia Hall. According to a July 2026 report by Hello!, the couple has been linked since 2014, when he was 46 and she was 23.
Their 23-year age difference did not prevent the relationship from developing into something lasting. Born on December 3, 1990, in Bratislava, Slovakia, Lucia had already established an international career of her own.
She began modeling at 15 after being discovered by a scout and went on to work with major fashion houses, including Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Dior, and Chanel. She also studied interior design and architecture at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Canada and speaks four languages.
Beyond modeling, Lucia pursued acting, appearing in projects including "White Chicks," "Smallville," "9-1-1," and "Once Upon a Time." Although the couple has not publicly revealed exactly how they met, they began attending Hollywood events together in 2014.
Their relationship continued to flourish, and in September 2019, Anthony proposed during a romantic trip to Taormina, Sicily. The following year, however, their wedding plans encountered an unexpected obstacle. They had originally planned a grand celebration at St. Mary's Cathedral in Miami, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to reconsider.
Rather than delay their marriage indefinitely, Anthony and Lucia exchanged vows during an intimate beach ceremony in Miami on November 7, 2020. Three years later, they finally fulfilled their original wedding plans with another ceremony. But by then, there was someone very special who could share the occasion with them.
Becoming a First-Time Father at 55
On June 1, 2023, Anthony and Lucia welcomed their first child together, a son named Michael Anthony Hall II. The actor was 55 when he became a father for the first time. The couple chose a name with a particularly personal meaning, honoring Anthony's original name.
"I knew I did want to name him Michael and my wife also loved that name, even before she met me," Anthony explained. They chose the suffix II rather than Junior, with the actor joking that there were already plenty of juniors in the world.
For Anthony, fatherhood represented something he had anticipated for much of his adult life. In a July 2026 interview with People, he reflected on finding happiness with his wife and young son.
"I have found my soulmate," he said of Lucia. "I have, and I love her." Anthony also explained that his decision to begin a family later in life had been intentional. "I couldn't be happier because I always knew, even when I was a young man, that I wanted to get started later," he shared.
At 58, he described being a husband and father as the most rewarding responsibility of his life. "Fatherhood and being a husband—that's absolutely the greatest role," he said. "It's a full-time job ... but we love it. We just embrace it, and our son such [sic] a joy." Anthony also offered an update on how quickly little Michael has been growing.
The actor revealed that his son had started preschool approximately six months earlier and was already thriving. "He's doing great. He's eating so much—I mean, this kid is like a little giant. He looks like he's 5 years old already," Anthony said. "But we're having a great time. It's incredible."
The proud father's words offered an endearing glimpse into his life away from the cameras. However, his latest public appearance has now provided an even sweeter look at the family he waited decades to build.

A Special Red-Carpet Appearance with His 3-Year-Old Son
On October 25, 2026, Anthony stepped out with Lucia and their three-year-old son, Michael, for the world premiere of Warner Bros.' "The Cat in the Hat." The family attended the event at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, turning the movie premiere into a memorable outing for all three.
The photos captured a striking contrast between the '80s teen star audiences remember and the doting family man he is today. Anthony, now 58, looked stylish in a light pink checked blazer layered over a crisp white shirt, paired with beige pants and black sunglasses.
Standing beside him was Lucia, 35, who opted for a fitted burgundy leather dress with matching shoes. Her long blonde hair fell loosely over her shoulders, completing the couple's coordinated yet effortlessly relaxed red-carpet appearance. But it was their curly-haired little boy who added an especially adorable touch to the occasion.

Michael wore a pale green polo shirt, gray checked pants, and blue-and-gray sneakers. In one particularly heartwarming photograph, Anthony held his son in his arms while Lucia stood close beside them. The little boy rested an arm around his father's shoulders as Anthony waved toward the cameras, creating a charming family moment.
Another photo showed Michael standing between his parents, holding their hands as they posed together on the red carpet. With the colorful "Cat in the Hat" premiere backdrop behind them, the three made a picture-perfect family. And in a third image, Anthony once again held his son while Lucia leaned in beside them, with all three smiling toward the photographers.

The happiness on their faces was hard to miss. For an actor whose journey included growing up without his biological father, navigating teenage fame, overcoming drinking problems, and eventually finding love in his late forties, the photographs mark another meaningful chapter.

The man who once played some of Hollywood's most memorable teenage characters is now enjoying family life with a little boy of his own.
And if Anthony's recent comments are anything to go by, being a father at 58 is proving every bit as fulfilling as he hoped it would be.
