Yvette Prieto: The 'Fantastic Girl' a Music Star Loved Before She Married Michael Jordan
Before her life with a basketball legend, Yvette Prieto caught the eye of a well-known music artist who once praised her charm, character, and presence.
Yvette Prieto's early presence in the public eye was subtle but noteworthy. With a background in modeling and a limited appearance on television, she quietly moved through spaces where media attention occasionally followed.

As time went on, her personal life began to attract more interest, particularly through associations with two high-profile figures — one who spoke of her with notable admiration, and another whom she would eventually marry. These moments gradually shaped a public image defined less by direct visibility and more by selective exposure.

Yvette Prieto Is a Model
While Prieto does not maintain a public digital presence or speak to the media, she is professionally known as a model. In addition to her work in fashion, she has made selective appearances in television and celebrity-focused media reports.

Notably, she was featured in the first episode of "Cuba: An Island Apart," a documentary exploring the country's complex and rarely seen history. The brief role offered a rare window into her background and connection to Cuban cultural narratives.
It was around this period that her personal life also began drawing media interest.

She Was in a Relationship with Julio Iglesias Jr.
In 2001, Prieto reportedly dated Julio Iglesias Jr., an actor and singer known for his roles in "Music of the Heart (1999)," "Hacienda Heights (2008)," and "Tu cara me suena (2011)."

That same year, the couple appeared on the cover of the Spanish magazine ¡HOLA!, photographed on a beach in Miami. In the image, they are shown in swimwear, smiling and seated close together, capturing a relaxed and affectionate moment. The issue also featured an exclusive interview.
At the time of their relationship, Prieto was working at Iglesias Sr.'s company in Miami. In an interview with the magazine, Iglesias Jr. praised her deeply. "She's definitely the woman closest to my heart right now," he said. "I've dated a lot of girls. But seriously, I can count them on one hand. Specifically, there were only three."

He went on to describe Prieto as "a fantastic girl," adding, "What I like most about her—apart from her beauty, which is obvious—is her simplicity, her discretion, her good nature, her affectionate nature, and how wonderful she is. She has it all, for me. For now, all I can say is that I feel happy with her."
However, the relationship did not last. Iglesias Jr. later found love with Cuban model Ariadna Romero. Like him, Prieto too would go on to find lasting happiness.
Yvette Prieto Is Michael Jordan's Second Wife
Years after her split from Iglesias Jr., Prieto met retired NBA icon Michael Jordan at a nightclub in Miami in 2008. The couple began dating soon after and, following three years together, they became engaged in December 2011.
Jordan proposed over the Christmas holidays, and publicist Estee Portnoy confirmed the news, which was first reported by WCNC Charlotte.

They married on April 27, 2013, in Palm Beach, Florida, at the Episcopal church Bethesda-by-the-Sea. Around 300 guests attended the ceremony, arriving at the venue by tour buses. Afterward, the celebration moved to The Bear's Club, a luxury golf course community in Jupiter, where Jordan had recently completed a 38,000-square-foot home.
A source told People at the time that the couple had spent months preparing for the event, coordinated by celebrity planner Sharon Sacks. The source added, "He wanted to give Yvette everything she's ever wanted."
Prieto's marriage to Jordan marked his second. He was previously married to Juanita Vanoy, whom he wed in 1989 in Las Vegas. The couple had three children — Jeffrey, Marcus, and Jasmine — and finalized their divorce in 2006 after 17 years together.
They had initially filed for divorce in 2002 but briefly attempted a reconciliation before ultimately parting ways.

Yvette Prieto Is a Mother of Twins Who Enjoys Private Family Getaways
In February 2014, Prieto gave birth to identical twin daughters, Victoria and Ysabel, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The announcement came via Jordan's spokeswoman Estee Portnoy, who told the Associated Press that "Yvette Jordan and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival."

Since becoming a mother, Prieto has maintained a low personal profile, appearing occasionally during family outings or public events with her husband and daughters.
In June 2025, ¡HOLA! reported that the family arrived in Sardinia, Italy, via private jet before heading to Porto Cervo, where their luxury yacht awaited. Jordan, ever the icon, was seen enjoying the moment with a cigar in hand while Prieto and the girls relaxed on board.
The previous summer, in July 2024, People magazine spotted the couple holding hands during a lunch date at Casa Amor in Saint-Tropez, a coastal town in the South of France.
Though their children were not with them, the couple also enjoyed a beachside boat ride. Jordan wore casual attire, while Prieto appeared stylish in a white crochet set paired with a pink bikini top and aviator sunglasses.
While she occasionally appears at public events or during family outings, Prieto continues to maintain a low profile. She does not use social media and chooses to keep her personal life private.
