22-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 'American Idol' Executive Robin Kaye and Her Husband, Thomas DeLuca – Here's What We Know
Shock and sorrow have gripped an upscale Encino neighborhood after a prominent television music executive and her husband were found murdered in their home — an apparent home invasion that ended in gunfire.
A Southern California community is reeling after the fatal shooting of television music executive Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas DeLuca, in what authorities suspect was a home invasion that turned deadly.

The couple was found lifeless on Monday, July 14, 2025, inside their $4.5 million home in Encino, California, each with fatal gunshot wounds to the head.
By Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department had arrested the suspect, Raymond Boodarian, who lived just 13 minutes away in a nearby condominium complex. According to the LAPD, Boodarian accessed the property by climbing the fence and entering through an unlocked door while the couple was away.
"While there were no signs of forced entry or trouble at the location during that investigation, it is now believed that the suspect had gained entry into the residence through an unlocked door," LAPD said in a statement.

Kaye and DeLuca likely discovered the suspect when they returned home. The victims were found in separate rooms, and it appears that a confrontation ensued before they succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Following the murder, Boodarian reportedly fled on foot.
Police were first alerted after a resident raised concerns, having not heard from the couple in several days. During their investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance footage, interviewed friends and family, and uncovered a prior radio call for a possible burglary at the residence on July 10 around 4 p.m.

At the time of the July 10 call, LAPD officers had been unable to enter the property because it was "highly fortified," said LAPD Lieutenant Guy Golan. A police airship was deployed but showed no obvious signs of trouble or forced entry.
However, surveillance footage later showed someone climbing the fence to access the couple's backyard. Authorities now believe that was Boodarian.

It is suspected he entered the home that day when no one was present and returned on July 14 when the confrontation and shootings occurred. He was reportedly inside Kaye and DeLuca's property for half an hour.
Fingerprints belonging to Boodarian were found inside the residence, and surveillance footage from the home helped confirm his identity. Authorities stated there is no known personal connection between the suspect and the victims.
Boodarian was booked on suspicion of murder, listed as a felony. Jail records describe him as having brown hair, black eyes, and weighing 151 pounds.
The suspect's criminal history raised alarms among neighbors. Boodarian had been arrested multiple times in the past, with misdemeanor charges dating back to October 22, 2023, February 6, 2024, and June 25, 2024.
His charges included exhibiting a deadly weapon, battery, and making criminal threats with intent to terrorize. Despite these, all the previous cases were dismissed due to mental competency evaluations.
One of his neighbors, 80-year-old Madlen Amrani, said his behavior had been increasingly erratic leading to the murder. "We had a lot of problems with him because he's taking drugs. Every now and then he would be outside high. The neighbors complained and they come and arrest him," she revealed.
Boodarian also allegedly hosted drug-fueled gatherings in his condo, causing many residents to fear for their safety. "He would wander the streets like a zombie for hours on end and exhibit oddball behavior. He would sit in front of my friend's house just staring and smiling… sometimes in his own house, just looking out the window and smiling," his neighbor added.
Amrani, who witnessed his arrest on July 15, confirmed he did not resist. Reflecting the general sentiment, another neighbor added, "Nobody in the community seemed surprised when they learned of Boodarian's arrest."
Photos from the arrest showed a shirtless Boodarian with his hands behind his back outside his home, and a large group of police in body armor surrounding him.
