The actress and model has spoken about the cosmetic choices that once felt like survival and what they cost her.

In an interview from August 19, 2025, with Allure, Julia Fox, 35, said she regrets the surgeries she began getting in her 20s and spoke candidly about beauty standards, aging, and her discomfort with fame. As she returns to the screen in September with the horror film "HIM," she says she's ready to let go of the image the world expects.

Unlike many other celebrities, who often don't like the discourse online over their possible beauty enhancements, Kanye West's ex-girlfriend has never been afraid to talk about the procedures she has had.

"It's super important when you become famous or a public figure to be transparent," Fox said in her interview. These cosmetic treatments include filler and Botox, which she began getting at the age of 21.

Additionally, the actress has spoken about getting liposuction, a nose job, and veneers in earlier interviews. This now helps her recognize when someone is completely natural.

"Now, when I see someone and I can tell they've never done anything… I wish I could go back and be that person. I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive," she continued.

Although she hasn't had any recent work done, Fox still admitted that future procedures aren't off the table. "I probably will [get more work done one day], but I'm just not as concerned with it right now," she explained to Allure.

The actress also spoke about the appeal of an older woman who hasn't altered her face, but confessed she still falls into the trap of not wanting to look older. "That's what I think I'm the most scared of, feeling old, and there are times where I feel old…Tired, over it, disillusioned," she added.

In the end, she got lost chasing industry beauty standards and her self-confidence plummeted. Fox clarified, "When you're young and hot, it's like that's your identity. Then you're like, [expletive], I need to stay young and hot."

Now at her age, Fox has rebuilt her self-confidence and stands between choosing to move forward or following her past patterns. Still, she believes she's ready to change and see who she becomes, even if that person doesn't have the same beauty that made her famous.

While much of the conversation centered on self-image and how the public perceives her, the interview also highlighted Fox's recent professional milestones.

Furthermore, despite her visibility in the entertainment industry, the model revealed that she dislikes being called a celebrity, a label that has never felt right to her. Although she always knew fame was inevitable, it didn't turn out to be an entirely positive experience.

When asked if she disliked her fame, Fox said yes, adding that many celebrities likely feel the same but hesitate to admit it. She explained that fame is not something a person chooses. It comes from the outside, and with it often comes a sense of being constantly drained by others' expectations and demands.
