Julia Fox, never one to play by the rules, posed confidently on September 17, 2025, at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, for the premiere of "Him" hand-in-hand with little Valentino Fox, who many fans were stunned to see at such a dark and adult-themed event.

Netizens quickly took to social media in droves to voice their outrage at this questionable parenting choice.

Furious Fans Lash Out

At the red carpet, Julia dazzled in a bold black-and-white polka-dot corset with a curve-hugging pencil skirt and an extravagant pink-feathered hat. The actress completed the look with black stockings, pumps, a padded peplum, and old Hollywood-style ringlets.

Meanwhile, Valentino’s football-inspired outfit was a nod to the movie theme, but it did little to shield the actress from the criticism.

Social media erupted. One Instagrammer commented, "I didn't think this film is supposed to be kid friendly [sic]," prompting another to add, "She isn't kid friendly herself [sic]."

Another commenter, clearly shocked, demanded, "She acted like that the whole time and had a kid?!"

Fashion Faux-Pas or Desperate for Attention

The backlash didn’t stop at her decision to bring her young son; it extended to her fashion choices. Critics swarmed in with knives drawn.

"That dress doesn't appear to fit her properly," one observer scoffed, while another delivered a brutal character takedown, "She is such a pick me girl. Tries to be like Paris Hilton with her ridiculous voice and anything to stay in the limelight. She'd be even more beautiful if she didn't try to hard to stay relevant [sic]."

The trolling didn’t end there. Doubts about her celebrity status surfaced with fresh venom. "How is Julia Fox even getting into any events? What exactly does she do? Lol," someone wondered.

And one particularly scathing remark drove the point home, "And we only know her because she dated Kanye West for a hot minute."

From Rapper’s Ex to Serious Screen Queen

Though many only recognize her from her whirlwind romance with Kanye West, Julia Fox has amassed a growing list of serious acting credits.

From her breakout in "Uncut Gems" to parts in "No Sudden Move" and "Fantasmas," she now takes on the dark, demanding role of Elsie White in "Him," a chilling new film directed by Justin Tipping and produced by horror powerhouse Jordan Peele.

In the movie, she stars opposite Marlon Wayans, who plays Isaiah White, a legendary football player training a rising star portrayed by Tyriq Withers.

But the training soon devolves into a twisted psychological nightmare, pulling back the curtain on a toxic sports culture rife with mind games and manipulation. It's not a film for the entire family, but one that cements Julia as a more serious player in entertainment.

Her Son Doesn't Think She's 'Cool'

Yet, her son doesn't know about her fame. During a People interview published on the same day as the premiere, she opened up about a recent exchange with Valentino, during which he asked why Netflix had sent her a gift box with popcorn and candy.

"I was like, 'Oh, because I'm in one of the movies on Netflix,'" she told him, referring to "Night Always Comes."

She even pulled up a scene to prove it, but it didn’t do much for Valentino. "He probably looked at it for 0.3 seconds and lost interest. Maybe one day he'll think I'm cool," Julia hoped.

Baptized Behind Her Back and Betrayed

But not everything about motherhood has been lighthearted for Julia. Her stormy relationship with Valentino's father, Peter Artemiev, has spilled into public view time and again.

In a July TikTok video, she stunned fans by revealing that Peter had baptized their son without her consent, and didn’t even invite her to the ceremony.

It wasn’t the first time she aired grievances. Just after Valentino’s birth in 2021, Julia took to Instagram Stories in December to publicly denounce her ex as a "dead beat [sic] dad," accusing him of alcohol and substance abuse, and claiming he had abandoned her with their baby, their dog, and their bills.

Her explosive posts included screenshots, photos, and even videos she said showed Peter berating her. She made it clear that all she wanted was for her son to be well.

But Peter fired back, reaching out to Page Six at the time with a sharp rebuttal.

"I was saddened to learn of the utterly false statements made on social media by Julia Fox, my co-parent, who is clearly struggling. Out of respect for her privacy and to protect our child, I will not comment further," he told the outlet.
