The Italian actress gave Milan two fabulous takes on her favorite color, then took her seat for an appearance that meant far more to her than either outfit.

That Leopard-Print Trench Was Pure Monica

Monica arrived at Vogue World wearing a long black trench coat with a jacquard leopard pattern. Cinched at the waist, it revealed a sheer black maxi skirt that swept toward the ground. Black platform heels gave the whole outfit a little more height and plenty of attitude.

The second outfit was all black again, but Monica had changed the mood completely. She wore a draped satin shirt with a collar, gathered into a flowing maxi slip skirt with delicate eyelash lace along its hem.

She carried a structured black top-handle handbag with fringe cascading down the sides. Between the shine of the satin, the fine lace, and that gloriously fringed bag, this was black dressing with plenty to look at.

Anyone hoping Monica would suddenly abandon her favorite color might be waiting a while. In a February 2026 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she explained:

"I like simple lines, because I have curves, and I favour black, usually. But I also like sometimes red, sometimes white, and sometimes even more elaborate details. It depends, but most of the time, I prefer simple silhouettes. For my kind of body, simple is better."

That preference has followed her through decades of appearances. Monica told the magazine that she has remained faithful to her taste over the years and likes clothes that fit both her body and her mood. She named little black dresses, men's suits, and high heels among the pieces she would hate to give up.

Monica told Harper's Bazaar that she likes to get ready somewhere private, with enough time to avoid rushing and, when possible, with the hair and makeup artists she trusts. The noise of a red carpet still brings pressure, she said, even after so many years in the public eye.

Discussing a black Stella McCartney gown she had chosen for the BAFTAs, Monica said, "The style is very feminine and sensual, but, at the same time, there's also something very easy, simple and elegant. It makes me feel comfortable with myself."

In her Vogue World trench, she appeared to have found that feeling again. Monica also explained that she takes an active role in choosing clothes for an event.

She began her career as a model and knows the work behind a collection, right down to the stress designers feel before a show. For her, fashion deserves thought and respect, something easy to see in the care she put into both Milan looks.

At Vogue World, though, her interest in the runway went beyond her own love of clothes. Once she had made her entrance and taken her seat, Monica was waiting for her daughter.

Deva's Dior Bridal Look Gave Monica a Reason to Beam

Deva Cassel walked the Vogue World runway with her mother watching. At Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the 22-year-old appeared in "Aurore," look 66 from Dior's Fall/Winter 2026/2027 haute couture collection, created by the house's creative director, Jonathan Anderson.

The bridal gown had a fitted, slightly sheer corset that followed Deva's shape before gently widening toward its train. Hand-pleated white chiffon floated over white degradé lace patterned with cactus flowers and ferns. Embroidery and beads added still more detail, along with white dandelions fashioned from feathers.

The neckline ran straight across her chest in a Bardot style, leaving her shoulders and décolletage bare. Three-dimensional flowers framed her shoulders and continued down the sides of the corset. With botanical lace, appliqués, and feathers worked across the dress, there was something beautiful to notice from every angle.

What a view for Monica to have as a former model herself. She had spent the earlier part of the evening drawing eyes in that leopard-patterned trench, but here was Deva commanding the runway in a completely different silhouette. This means mother and daughter each had their own Milan fashion moments.
