The 31-year-old made an unusually public appearance with friends, offering a fresh glimpse of the life he's built away from his famous parents.

Once his picture began circulating, some people's reactions revealed how successfully Connor Cruise has stayed under the radar.

Connor Cruise Resurfaces at the World Series

Connor stepped out for Game 4 of the World Series on October 27, when the Tampa Bay Rays faced the Milwaukee Brewers. The Rays were already three games down before the matchup, but the Florida team managed a comeback victory.

Connor celebrated the result with friends at Tropicana Field. The rarely seen son of Tom and Nicole shared a group selfie through his Instagram account, putting himself back in public view. He captioned it: "You gotta believe!"

E! News reported on the rare appearance, noting that Connor commemorated the Rays' Game 4 victory as the team fought to stay alive in the series. The outing was noteworthy because Connor has spent much of adulthood far from the Hollywood publicity machine surrounding his parents.

His social-media presence instead tends to offer occasional glimpses of fishing, golf, food, friends, and life in Florida. Yet the new photo brought a familiar wave of attention.

"I had no clue they had a kid !!" one person wrote. For longtime followers of Tom and Nicole, however, Connor has been part of their story for more than three decades.

His parents simply made a deliberate effort to keep him and his older sister out of the intense celebrity spotlight when they were young. Both siblings largely continued that approach as adults.

Tom and Nicole Became Parents Through Adoption

Tom and Nicole met while making "Days of Thunder" and married in December 1990. Nicole later spoke openly about the fertility difficulties she experienced during their marriage.

That designation has a specific meaning within the church. On its official website, Scientology describes a Suppressive Person, or SP, as someone it believes seeks to suppress others.

The church says that when such a designation applies to somebody connected to Scientology, the person can be officially labeled an SP so members know not to associate with them.

The church also says such a declaration is extremely rare and results in expulsion from the religion. The wedding report alleged that Nicole's supposed status within Scientology was one reason she would not have been invited.

They therefore remain allegations attributed to outside sources rather than confirmed facts about the family's private relationships. Nicole's own public comments about Bella and Connor have consistently focused elsewhere.

Nicole Has Said Her Job Is to Love Her Children

The actress has repeatedly spoken about protecting her relationship with Bella and Connor rather than publicly dissecting it.
