Michael Che's Wife: Is the SNL Star Married? What We Know About His Love Life
As one of SNL’s most private stars, Michael Che doesn’t say much about relationships. Still, the question remains: Who is Michael Che’s wife and does she even exist?
Michael Che has been a fan favorite on "Saturday Night Live" for years, delivering sharp punchlines and co-anchoring the "Weekend Update" segment with ease. But while his career stays front and center, his personal life remains a mystery.

That's left many fans asking who is Michael Che's wife or is the comedian still single. Here's what we've uncovered about his love life.
Does Michael Che Have a Wife? What He's Said About His Love Life
Che may be a public figure, but when it comes to his dating life, he keeps things quiet. So far, there's no confirmation of whether he has a wife and the comedian hasn't publicly shared any long-term relationships.
In 2019, he sparked brief speculation after being seen courtside with a woman at a New York Knicks game. The sighting took place during a matchup between the Knicks and the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden. Still, Che never commented on the woman's identity, and no further sightings followed.

In September 2024, Che offered a rare peek into his personal life during an appearance on "The Howard Stern Show" with fellow "SNL" cast member Colin Jost. Asked about dating, Che joked that the women he sees wouldn't exactly blend into Hollywood double dates.
"I don't need Scarlett calling my phone saying, 'I think your date stole my silverware,'" he said, referencing Jost's wife, Scarlett Johansson. The comedian also made it clear at the time — he wasn't dating anyone.
Che's Views on Dating and Why He's Not Looking for a Celebrity Wife
While some "Saturday Night Live" cast members have found love on set, Che has made it clear — he's not interested in following that path.
In a 2021 appearance on "The Howard Stern Show," Che opened up about his views on dating and relationships in the public eye. When asked if he would ever date a celebrity, he didn't hold back. "No, absolutely not. Oh my god. You can have them all," he said, laughing. "No, thank you."
Che went on to explain that dating someone famous comes with added pressure. "It's so much harder for two famous people to get together and combine forces of attention and press and constant scrutiny," he said. "It's hard. It's a very, very hard thing to do."
While he respects those who make it work, Che admitted it's not for him. "Like, if you're in love and it's beautiful, I totally get it, but for me to think to date someone like that… I'm like, 'Oh my god, that seems like so much work.'"

Che's Dating App Drama
Before people were interested in knowing who Michael Che's wife is, the comedian made headlines for a different kind of dating story. In 2017, Che came under fire for alleged rude behavior on a dating app — accusations that briefly grabbed media attention before fading from the spotlight.
The controversy began when Leah McSweeney, founder of the streetwear brand Married to the Mob, called Che out on her podcast "Improper Etiquette." During the episode, McSweeney claimed Che was "so arrogant and so rude," based on their exchanges over a dating app. "I cannot even believe that someone… you're like a D-list celebrity to me," she said at the time.

Her remarks quickly circulated online, framing Che as dismissive and impolite in one-on-one digital conversations. However, the episode that included her comments was later taken down.
Che later addressed the situation, pushing back on the accusations and suggesting that the story lacked context. He did not speak in detail but made it clear he disagreed with how the situation was portrayed.
